Recently I am trying to take the first place for my website with this keyword "An Electrical Engineer". I started this blog with the same name with my keyword but till now, there is no place in google search first page. Just try to rank your website for one keyword if you are new. I will try to rank my blog with some new keyword after some days later.

  • 1. Lay the Groundwork

You'll need to have some basics in place before you would wish to rank for any random keyword.
*A strong website- The more drawn out your site has been around, the better. It's also indicates that your entire website follow SEO best practices - start with Google's Webmaster Guidelines in the event that you don't know what that implies.
*A network to draw on - it's exceptionally valuable to have a built-in network to impart new content with - a blog following, an audience on social networks like Facebook and Twitter, email contacts you can reach out to in order to rank quickly for a website.

    2. Do Your Initial Keyword Research

Utilize a few keyword tools to get a sense of search volume for the keyword and also the competition before you settle your keyword choice.
    * Choosing a keyword with great volume, yet not that much- in general, you would prefer not to target a keyword that has low relative search volume if there's a comparable term that is substantially more popular. A few keywords are basically too competitive and not worth your time.
*Choosing a keyword that is relevant to your business - you'll likely to succeed in ranking for a keyword if the term is significant to your site and your business. You'll probably get some genuine return on your ranking - remember that rankings all by themselves aren't really important, unless they're driving effective traffic and leads.
At this phase of the process, you should also make a list of close variations on your primary keyword. These will be useful in writing and optimizing your content later on.

    3. Check Out the Competition

Once you've settled on a keyword, do a research for it on Google and a couple of search engines to distinguish what your competition is doing. Give consideration to:

    *The domains and URLs
    *The titles
*The type of content that is ranking
*The types of businesses that are ranking
    *How authoritative those sites are

You're searching for ways that you can differentiate yourself. You'll have to do at least as much as your competitors are doing to beat them.

    4. Consider Intent

The more particular the keyword (think long-tail keywords), the easier it is to gauge the searcher's intent, and the easier it will be to serve up what those searchers are probably searching for. In search marketing, ""intent"" is our best guess what the individual using the search query truly needs.
Google's founders have said that the perfect search engine would serve only one result. You need to be that one that satisfies the searcher's need so they don't bounce back to the search results, searching for the best answer.

    5. Conceptualize the Content

Next, form a plan for the actual content you're going to create that will rank for your picked keyword. There are numerous ways to ranking for a keyword, including yet not limited to:

    *An article
    *A blog post
    *A product page
*An index or directory of links
    *An authoritative guide
    *An infographic
    *A video

Content like infographics and videos will require more resources. Sometimes, the most ideal way to answer a search query is with some kind of tool, similar to a mortgage calculator.

    6.Execute

Execute on your plan but then again, you shouldn't rush any of these steps. More and more, search engines are searching for high quality content that benefits the searcher, not keyword-stuffed spam or pages loaded with advertisements that only benefits you. If you'd preferably buy traffic than put in the effort it requires to gain ""free"" organic search traffic, investigate PPC.

    7. Optimize for Your Keyword

As a general rule, steps 6 and 7 ought to be intertwined. Optimize your content while you're creating it, rather than applying optimization sometime later. This is where the list of keywords you formulated in step 2 comes in. Use those keywords where you can in your content, yet not to the point of seeming like an insane robot. Keep in mind that there are a lot of ""invisible"" places for keywords, stuff like image file names - users won't see these if they're not searching for them, but rather they can increase your keyword rankings.

For a full list of on-page optimization factors, look at SEOmoz's guide for the ""ideal"" page. Another tip is to copy Wikipedia, whose pages have a tendency to have stellar on-page optimization.
Before you publish your work, it's a great idea to double check your keyword research. It's conceivable that your content has evolved during the improvement and creation stages, and you'll have to ensure that there's still alignment between keyword and content.

    8. Publish

Depending on the kind of content it is, you may need to be careful about scheduling this step. This isn't typically a thought for evergreen content, yet it might be critical for content that is tied to something in the news, an event or a trend. You may likewise need to coordinate with PR or other interested parties at your company.

    9. Promote

This step is essential and should come quickly after publishing - indeed, for big bits of content; it's great if you can do a few media outreach before the piece goes live. Ensure you do what you can to get your content in front of as many eyeballs as possible before it even has an opportunity to rank for the keyword:

*Share your content through your business' social account - Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn et al. Do this through your own personal accounts as well, if you can.
*Use social buttons or widgets on your site to promote independent sharing - Make it simple for readers and viewers to keep the chain going. They'll probably tweet or share your article if they had to do is simply click a button.
*Build links to your content - Whatever the fate of PageRank, link building is yet an enormous piece of SEO.
Accumulating page views and social shares will allow you to collect links, which will enable you to gain that ranking.

    Step 10: Analyze

Check your keyword ranking manually (make sure you're signed out and not seeing excessively personalized results) or with a rank checking tool. Also use your analytics to see what keywords your content is really ranking for - they might not be the exact ones you originally targeted. If you're not ranking for the right keywords after a couple of weeks or so, you have more work to do. Ensure that your content is:

    *Totally optimized
    *Truly high-quality
    *Accurately visible

It's also possible that the keyword you picked is too competitive and you need to scale back your ambition. Try focusing on less competitive keywords until you've build up better authority.
