Writing a webpage for a new product

What would your top tips/step by step guide be when writing a new webpage for a new product? I'm in the process of writing up a new portfolio item (mountaineering trip) for our site, but what steps should I be taking in order to maximise the chance of people coming across it on Google?

I know that there's a reasonable demand for my product, as a number of my competitors have been running very similar trips over the past few years.

Obviously price and well written (user friendly and understandable) content is crucial, but how can I structure it so as to do (very) well when being searched for?

    Just real quick, here is a bullet list. You can search these in Google to get details.

    1. Build a great headline

    2. Make your page over 2,000 words (Google why you'd do that).

    3. Use your main keywords and quite a few (10 plus) long tail and LSI keywords.

    4. Put a video in the page.

    5. Make the content very valuable so that people stay on the page for a while and share it too.

    6. Make a YouTube Video and point the description link at it (NOT the same video you put on the page, make a new one).

    7. Get backlinks from relevant sites only. If you can buy the link it's spam.

    8. Share it on all social media (this only helps a little, but it does help). It only takes a few minutes.

    There you have a decent formula.

      I agree with you building a Youtube Video separately about the product works everytime.

      Nice and good checklist, You should save this and follow everytime you can also add some more as per your needs.

    You should use YouTube to assist you. I've learned some very useful tips on this sort of thing by watching simple training videos.

    But what I would add is to be realistic about your own limits.

    Would you try and fix all the problems with your car yourself unless you're a mechanic?

    Hire a writer.

    HTML bullets, multiple <h2> heading tags and jump-links, Wikipedia format style. Not wall of text, just the formatting.
