SEO content connected with Social Media?

I still consider myself new to the SEO content game. I just really wanted to know everyones opinion on something.

If I am getting the follows, likes, retweets, and all that from Facebook, instagram, twitter, google + and so on, how much of an influence do you typically see for your SEO?

I know every answer is going to be different, but I find myself spending a lot of time on social media trying to work it up as much as possible hoping it will influence my website authority and so on.

I would really like to see a lot of comments so I can really see what people experience. Thanks everyone

John

Those things have zero direct influence on your rankings in Google.

    Zero.

If you are doing it with the hope that Google is going to reward you, you are wasting your time.

Basically, what an SEO does is make sure you come out on top of search results. Factors that come into play are the content of your site, keywords that were used, etc...

    But to answer your question...None.

It does not increase, decrease or affect it in any direct kind of way. But it actually does in an indirect way because Google takes note of how popular your website is based on the traffic that goes through your website.

Social Media had very little effects on rankings, Unless you content is very super popular like its getting close to 100k or more shares.

Otherwise its only the links that you get are going to push your higher on serps.

I use social media for promoting my content not for seo purpose .I think its have a little impact on ranking but not so much .Social media it can give much greater results if you focus to promote your content and not to rank your site

Social media is more used for working with your audience and accumulating it. Does not affect much as for rankings, but has a positive affect on website authority.

very small affect, the main thing you need to focus on are content and links, good quality content attracts links, and links are the #1 factor for ranking.
