Hi All,

For one of our sites which is in the education and training industry, the traffic (organic) is down by 30% from previous month of July.

We haven't added any keywords mapped to all the pages on the website
We get most traffic to the home page, blog and one more internal page.

So can anyone suggest or have any idea about the significant drop and what we can do?

I have seen which pages have dropped, but I just don't know why.

Domain is: springpeople[dot]com

Thanks

If the page has no new content, it is not going to stay flying for long. That is why content is important.

If the SE crawlers come and see nothing new they start ranking you down.

I can't see analytics, but that is my first shot.

    Hope it helps

That is complete and total nonsense. Search engines could not care less if you add new content or not. There are tons of pages ranking for highly competitive keywords that have not been updated in a decade.

To the OP, are you tracking rankings of major keywords? That is your answer. One or more of your keywords have likely slipped in rankings. A drop from #1 to #2 can account for traffic drops like that. Even from #2 or #3 to #3 or #4 could cause it.

  • I do agree with mike, having the same content and not consistently updating content cannot hurt you. If you take into account all the top sites, which have all held top spots for ages without any changes whatsoever. With Google getting tougher on the way websites rank, I would wait it out a bit longer to see whether your site returns to its rankings or continues to drop. At that point you can decide whether you want to change your strategy

    Hi Guys,

    Thanks for the info.

As already told, we havent mapped keywords for all pages, so not able to know which keywords have had drops.

Content can be an issue as it doesnt much change in months.

So my first strong guess is what Mike pointed out, any keyword that too potential keyword rank drop causes traffic drop. Also as per GSC, there are no much deviations except few 1000 drop in impressions.

Hopefull keyword is doing the drop in traffic what I can judge now.
