What is the best technique to generate leads?

Hi,
I am a beginner to SEO and I am having trouble generating leads. Recently I posted an infographic and I provided the option for people to download the infographic for free as long as they provide their business email. I even blurred the infographic a bit because I didn't want people to leave the site after viewing the infographic. While the infographic has received a lot of views, it has only been downloaded about 60 times. Can someone please tell what I'm doing wrong and point me towards the right direction?

    Well people just don't give up their email addresses for one inforgraph. I mean I won't. If it is not utmostly necessary and no one else is providing that kind of information.

      It would put e-mail option. Create enough value so that it makes sense to ask for an email.
      Try to offer more, instead of asking, for now.

    Is 60 a good percentage of your existing traffic? I mean If you only had 100 unique traffic, that's 60% conversion which is awesome.

    On the other hand If you had 1,000 unique traffic and 60 conversions, 6% could also be good depending on the niche. Why would your traffic want an infographic?

    You need to provide better context for that 60 number.

    The technique you're using ,were used by Ryan Deiss in a squeeze page, it's downloadable also in LeadPages:

    it consist of a video, made blurry with the image of an infographic which cannot be seen well, and if the visitor click PLAY it pops up an email address to receive the complete video.

    Try this: put the infographic in a box like a video, and then blurry it more and put the image of PLAY BUTTON, then when the user press play it pops up an email box to insert their mail.

    It should work for lead generation.

    There could be lots of ways to generate leads online
    EMail marketing
    Linkedin Marketing
    Twitter marketing (Best way to generate traffic online)
    Telephone calling
    Facebook marketing
    Newsletter marketing and so on.

    In your plan, what are the values that you are offering to your prospects? Is that infographic common for all or customizable ? How many people download or give their emails out of 100? Think about it, analyze and change your strategy.

    You have to provide real value these days for people to hand over their email address, people just assume they're going to get spammed. I don't get a huge amount of traffic on my website (Sig) but I do get a 40% opt in rate from free traffic sources. Because I try and create things no one else is giving away for free.
