Negative SEO - What Do I Do?

Hi,

I've accumulated 30 new links to a website of mine (which generates all of my income). All of these links contain the same keyword - making me think it's negative SEO.

I've spotted these links early using the Majestic tool, but they're yet to appear in my Google Webmster Tools account.

Do I wait for them to appear in my Google webmaster tool account and then disavow; or will it be too late if I do that?

First of all, Google has pretty much eliminated negative SEO.

Second, what kind of links are they? Are you sure they are bad links? They might be good. Are you sure you did not create them? Or someone you hired?

Lastly, the Disavow Tool should be a last resort. It is always best to contact the site owners and try to have the links removed. Google gives no guarantees that they will abide by anything you send in a Disavow File.

You're asking the right questions Erny. Something that differentiates the "successful" Marketers is that they are open to learning. The more you learn the more you earn.

Forget the Webmaster Tools data it's usually going to be outdated.

Look at the Google cache on the backlink pages, that will show you If Google has found the backlinks or not.

If the backlinks are from decent pages and not stuffed with 10s/100s of spam or obvious paid links I'd leave them alone.

Look at the big picture, the overall backlink profile, what's those 30 same anchor-text links, like 1% of your backlink profile (example). Doubtful it's an issue.

Don't mind negative SEO as it is already known. Kindly understand first what Disavow tool really means before using it because there is no guarantee that your request will be assessed immediately.

For god's sake, Kindly don't post if you do not have something to say on this thread. You look like crazy in your post because you didn't even read the thread.

If these links are potentially spammy Google will just ignore them. This is an update they made last year so bad links are just ignored, not penalized.

It depends from the links: i mean negative seo if they are coming from churn and burn site, or they are poor related and only for backlink purpose...

...and how many and how much quality are the other links? i mean if you have only 30 link not so good, but 10k link from good sites, it's quite different than 30 links to 40.

In my opinion relying only on Seo is quite crazy if you're not an expert cause due to google's fluctuation you're so much exposed
