How much do you pay for content?

I am now trying to screw my 9-5 job...and started working on my solo SEO and content marketing Agency

Challenges are massive...Especially when it comes to service fees offered by my competition

Agencies in my area charge $1,000 / month which is insanely low!! And I have to admit it. They do a good job...

As a start, I am happy to offer a service within that range too, or at least until I get enough income to cover my expenses.

My biggest problem is content production. Content for blog posts, website copy, etc

Unfortunately, I am not a native English speaker, so I won't be able to write a good copy by myself.

As far as I can tell, a good blog post costs ~$200.

I'd need at least two blog posts a month for any SEO client!!

This is my problem.

If I'd charge $1,000 a month, I'd be left with almost nothing after cutting off other expenses such as the tools and my time.

How can I get a good content at a good rate? I am talking about $50 to $70 per blog post.

Thanks for the help

How many words do you expect from your posts?
That governs the price. I do write a lot of content and may be able to help you.

Thanks, Laurence. My posts would be 1,000 words or less when creating infographic content, for example.

I pay around $50 for a well researched 1300 word article from my writers who all native english speaking. The trick is finding the right source of writers and sticking with them. I can give you their link if you want it.

On a side note, how did you find them?

    Hi guys,

I write content for one of those "companies" that charges $1000 a month.

I typically write 2-4 blogs posts per client per month. Each is about 400 words for a niche article - for example, 5 things you didn't know about auto maintenance.

I typically charge about $20 for the above post.

I agree that the hardest part is finding good RELIABLE writers. I find my own fill in for when I have vacation, etc., and most writers are really flaky.

If you have a need for blog or website content writing, let me know.

    Thanks!

No - you want 'article writers' - asking for 'copywriters' indicates you want 'sales copy' and that will be higher in price and probably not necessary for what you need now.

Suggest you place a "'want to hire' ad here and let writers come to you with lists of their qualifications and experience (and samples of their writing) and you can hire one or several to write for you.

You could also look through the "for hire" ads here - I know Laurencewins has an ad there with comments by those he's worked for. There are quite a few experienced writers advertising there.

You can hire a freelancer from any freelancing market place, I think there are many freelancer , who will do your work at a cheap rate. I have been using the Upwork & Fiverr for a long time. You can use the site which one is more convenient for you. Thanks for your advance.

We pay anywhere from $50-$150 for content, all depending on the length and amount of research involved. It's tough finding top-notch writers. When you find them, hang onto them!

To all of you who say it's hard to find good writers:
May I suggest to you that you alter that to: It's hard to find good writers at the low prices you're willing / able to pay.

Or, are you all living in parts of the world with really low cost of living?

In my part of the world, I can afford to give you a well-researched paragraph for $50. If Someone here charges less, Someone ends up homeless in a jiffy.

You can buy contents for cheap like 1-3$ per 500+ articles, but I'm not sure of the quality of such contents. The really good ones, like native english speaker writers, would cost 10$+ per article. The challenge there though would be if the writers are able to do a thorough research. I have tried working with native english writers, and while the grammars and sentence constructions work, there's something lacking in terms of information. You have to do your part on what information you'd want the writers to include in the articles.

    Easy to solve.

You need an article only for SEO purpose? i mean how much should it be the quality?

IF you need article ONLY for Seo purpose, for Tier1-tier2-tier3 level, web 2.0 sites for backlinking option ----> Go to Spinrewriter, and choose some white label articles.

IF you need at least medium quality article --- go to FIVERR and pay a freelancer for it.

IF you need good quality article --- go to UPWORK and search for an affordable freelancer, contact him directly and ask him a special price for a continuous basis job.

Mostly I pay $30 for 1000to 1500 words well-researched articles. I give them certain time limit but if they don't complete the job in time I always give them more time. Most of the good article writers are busy with their job.

There are many marketplaces from where you can hire profession article writer like People per hour

I just don't see how you can get a well-researched article of 1000 words for $30 in good English.

Would love to see one of those articles.

    A real world example.

I charge $10 per 500 words for good quality content, and $25 per 500 for top quality content.

Yes you can pay $200 for a great blog post and I have charged that for one-off jobs to get content onto a top site for a client.

But generally, you could get a decent writer and pay $10-$15 per 500 words, bringing your great blog post cost down closer to $50.
