Google ranks irrelevant pages in the top 20?

I have been working on a keyword phrase for a landing page of my website. I have great relevant content exactly related to the topic. But google ranks pages from youtube, itunes, quora posts, pinterest and even linkedin pages instead of proper relevant websites. What should I do to overtake these websites.

Suggestions please!!

    Sometimes google gives a slight amount of edge to the websites with higher domain authority. The ones you have mentioned are sites with higher DA and PA, so they are ranking higher on the SERP. The first thing you need to do is create as many backlinks as possible so that there is an impact on your site's DA. After a few quality backlinks, you will see your website gradually gaining ranks on SERP.

    Remember people don't exactly search keywords exactly like `jobs` or like `freelancing`. They most likely follow in the line of:
    - I want to get a easy job
    - How do I find a job easily
    - What website can freelancers go to conduct business

    It's probably a good idea to aim for these more long tail niche keywords instead. Content marketing is pretty important to bring in these niche keywords.

    The sites which you have mentioned have tremendous DA PA over normal sites. Why not take advantage of these sites?

    Create content on these sites especially on the Youtube.
    Creating PPT files onto Slideshare also helps massively.

    Google Algo changes frequently, and 1 thing never change on those algo, Google rank popular website, so you might need to make your website popular on social media, quality backlinks, reviews, etc. And to overtake those websites, i dont think its gonna be an easy task (nearly impossible tasks) unleast you have a website with more visitors than those websites have & also million of new contents daily.

    A tip : create a relevant content on your blog with long tail keywords related to drive traffic to your website. It might work but not for your highly competitive keywords.

    Well, you can start with forgetting pleasing Google and start creating sites
    which will excite visitors, affter all Visitors put money in your packet not Google.

    You should go backlink quality in forums, blogs ... have high PA DA index, it is very beneficial for your website.

    I think you need to do SEO more harder and better than those sites you mentioned. But it's extremely difficult because they're very big and reputation sites. Google choose them because it's algorithm.
