Hi Guys,

I have a personal blog where I write about software testing. The content is good however I have only 1500 visitors. My goal is to take it to at least 5000.

I am already doing the following things, could someone tell me what should I do more of:
  • Blog domain name is as per content
  • Title I give to new post is also as per content
  • Couple of new posts at least in a month
  • Meta keyword tag is not important (I came to know from google video) so not paying more attention to that.

I couldn't share the website address as moderator will think that I am branding my post and will discard it. So please suggest me few things which will help me increase my traffic.

You need to make some Backlinks of your site on the High Domain Rating Sites.

Also, Meta Tags are still important for your SEO. As google is focusing on the Intent of the user. So if you optimize Meta Tags then it might help in describing the intent of the user and eventually, you will have more traffic.

Do remember at the time of making Backlinks. For Google, they need Quality backlinks Not Quantity backlinks. Search more famous blogs, High authority sites, Check good Alexa rank sites. And make Backlinks on them with the appropriate keyword.

Remember, Don't stuff keywords when you are making Backlinks. And also Editorial given backlinks give you high PageRank. But don't try to buy links from those blogs who are not related to your topic.

Rest you can use Grey hat techniques to rank your Page. and there are 'N' number of things that can be done for SEO. Try them. Learn from your Competitors and Rank high on Google.

    Cheers!!

yes. right. The number of backlinks is an indication of the popularity or importance of that website. Backlinks are important for SEO because some search engines, especially Google, will give more credit to websites that have a good number of quality backlinks, and consider those websites more relevant than others in their results pages for a search query.

Make a list of all your main keywords and try incorporate these into the blogs (no keyword stuffing though!) so Google picks it up more and ranks you higher on the SERP, thus potentially getting you more views.

Share the blogs on all social media platforms.

    Hope this helps

The only thing you've posted that's remotely SEO related is the page title, everything else doesn't matter.

    hi Guys,

I tried the following website to check how many backlinks my blog has and it told me I have 50 ( or it shows only first 50).
    https://smallseotools.com/

Could someone let me know a good website which shows all the backlinks and also the quality of the backlinks.

also, could someone tell me if age of the backlink matter or not ( I mean if backlinks are old is it good or not, do I need to create new backlinks?)

Ok you understood you need backlinks.

BUT i suggest you to outsource it to a seo agency or provide. invest some money.

AND pop up a box to capture your visitor's email list, so you don't waste the time they're in your blog and all your effort.

doing this you will make some sales, and then you can reinvest it to promotional post on fb.

It has been said that Content is king but when it comes to driving traffic then 'SEO friendly content is the real king'. As you are already good with the content part, now you need to focus on driving traffic to your website with an SEO friendly copy.

-Be sure to USE HEADLINES and SUB-HEADERS in your article, as it is important both for readability and SEO. Sub-heads will clarify the structure of the article to the readers. Also try to use some keywords in the heading.

    - Don't forget about LINKING TO PREVIOUS CONTENT as it will keep the visitor engaged and make the post more relatable to the audience. It is important for your Google ranking too.

-Try Posting CONTENT on your website REGULARLY. The less active a site the less often search engines will crawl it.

    - Be WISE when CHOOSING THE KEYWORDS for your post. The keywords should solely be related to your article and the message you want to send across. Don't stuff too many keywords in your post.

-You may also OPTIMIZE IMAGES that you use in your post by giving appropriate image name. Keep the size of the image small and minimize its weight so that it doesn't obstruct SEO.

I know you said you have good content. How do you know it is good? Have you actively sought out other people's opinions? If not, then only you think it's good when it might not be good at all, hence the low numbers you're complaining about.

I think backlinks are the issue there. Following are some insights about backlinks :-

    What are backlinks?
At its most basic, a link is a connection between any two web pages. You might have internal links between different pages on your site or external links that point from your site to other useful web resources. Links that go from another site to yours are called backlinks because they point back to your pages.

Why should you care about link building?
From a search engine optimization perspective, links demonstrate a site's popularity. Essentially, every time a site links to your pages, it's saying that it finds them worthy of sharing with its readers. When search engine spiders find a site with lots of other sites pointing to it, they conclude that the site provides quality information that should be rewarded with high rankings.

There are backlink characteristics that matter in rankings algorithms. For example, a backlink from a high ranked site will count more than one from a low ranked site. A link from a relevant site within your industry also will get more weight.

But since search engines can't manually assess the quality of every site, they rely on the number of backlinks pointing at a site and the relative quality of the links to determine a site's overall value.

How can you get started building backlinks to your site?
If you publish engaging content, you probably already get links back to your site. But that's rarely enough to make your site competitive in search results. You should be proactive about developing backlinks.

Keep in mind the following criteria:

Backlinks should come from relevant sites that publish quality content.
They shouldn't be paid for. It's a "black hat" strategy that Google doesn't condone.
Backlinks should be built slowly. If you create them too quickly, you could appear to be manipulating the rankings and trigger penalties from the search engines.
To find sites you might want to target for potential backlinks, first see which websites link to your competitors. You can conduct a search for your competitors' URLs at sites such as MajesticSEO or the Open Site Explorer. Once you discover which sites are linking to your competitors, visit those sites to find out if your content might be a good fit as well.

Another way is to track unclaimed link opportunities. Suppose another site has mentioned your site as a reference or quoted one of your articles without providing a proper attribution link. By tracking your brand name and other branded keywords with a Google Alert, you can monitor such lost backlink opportunities and contact the site owners to ask them to link to your pages correctly.

    Other backlink opportunities include:

#Guest posting. Offer to write content for other people's sites. This can help you gain extra exposure and backlinks.

#Press releases. If you have something newsworthy to share, an online press release can boost your backlink count.

#Social networking. When you actively participate on social networking sites, you not only brand yourself as an expert, but you also can pick up a number of backlinks.

Although any of these backlink strategies can help your site climb in the search engine rankings, you should track the results to see which techniques have the most impact. Over time, a consistent link-building campaign should yield significant improvements in your search rankings and site traffic.
