Its not the quantity of links but the quality that depends for your rankings.

    Hi Jennifer,

You may have followed all the correct SEO techniques, but it still takes google 3-6 months to rank websites that are very intricate, some people report 4 day-4 weeks but I personally find that brand new sites tend to be faster than website reforms! It's not something that's done manually you'll have to wait for a 'crawler' to catch up.

The only way your site can be found is if it is linked on a site that is already on the organic search results index!

    Hope this helps

    Tyler

Things like the age of the domain, the reputation of the author, number and type of references (incoming links), social media strategy and content freshness play their role.

BUT, for the average website the problem lies in other areas.

What you will read below are 5 areas that are often neglected by website owners either because they don't understand their importance or because they are not sure how to handle them.

Before getting into the details, don't forget that when you make a change it may take a couple of months (or more) before you see any positive or negative results, so you need to have patience before you decide if something worked or not.

HI dear friend, I'm Panagiotis and I'm a web developer,
We all have such clients, so you need to explain him that google ranking takes time about 3-6 months this is the same for all new websites. Whatever you do offsite-onsite SEO if the site is new it will take for google at least 3 months to rank you. Suppose that you are a student in a class... your teacher will not give you grades from the first day but at the end of semester! Keep in mind that getting indexed from google is total different from ranking. Now about keywords... the meta keyword is dead for google so for good onsite seo you need to place your main keywords to your description, title , headlines and to your articles and anchor images.

    With respect,
    Panagiotis Doris

    Thanks guys.
I had wrote some articles to related my keywords and doing guest posting (backlinking) almost one and half month. The problem is google is not showing any rank i mean i do not expect 1st page too early as i know its new website and it will takes 6 months to go high but least it should have statics sometime like this rank # xxxxx.

And my client, he want site in 1st page by hook or crook in a days as he said we have spent 2months on it. I told him if we do something aggressive google may add our website to their spam (blacklist).

    What should i do?
    Should i continue guest posting?
For SMM- he had boosted "web promote ads" in fb in the beginning to bring small pack of traffic to the fan page and website.

The whole point is am i miss something or i am on track?

Posting regularly to a blog has nothing to do with ranking in Google. You could never update the site with new content and still rank just fine. Hell, if anything, posting regularly screws up the internal link structure on most websites.

Guest posting can work, but it really depends on what types of sites you are guest posting on. If you are posting on sites like Huffington Post and Forbes, it's a waste of time. Those articles will be buried so deep on those sites they will have no authority. Plus the links are all nofollow.

Guest posting is much more effective if you can do it on smaller sites where your article will likely be more prominent in their internal link structure, and thus garner more authority from their site.

If you are not ranking, it really comes down to links. They are the #1 ranking factor by far. Your links are not strong enough, plain and simple.

And the whole "it takes 3-6 months to rank in Google" that people are spouting off in here is total bullshit. It depends on the competition. It might take a week. It might take over a year. It depends on how stiff the competition is.
