Importing Youtube videos and Seo

Hi guys,

I have a video website where I import a lot of youtube videos. They are imported as posts that pull the description, etc from youtube. First, if I use the same description from the youtube video, will this be considered duplicate content? Also, if I am not the owner of the video, but using it on my website, is it ok for me to rewrite the description?

Well the original creator of the videos should not have any issues if you are embedding his videos as in the end you are helping him only, But its best to rewrite few descriptions yourself otherwise you wont find any gem.

Be cautious when doing that. If you are doing it with help of a tool, then you probably should change the description. Else, you would end up having all the unwanted outbound links from your website which might impact in negative way.
Pulling just videos with the same description has actually not helped one of my websites though.

Yeah, I am using a tool for the imports. Thanks for the tip. It makes sense.

My other concern is with adsense. Most of my website will be imported youtube videos that I will be rewriting the description on. I plan to add some blog articles in a few months. Will I run into any problems using adsense on a video site where most of the content is pulled from youtube?

I'm not sure, in this case, try to change one phrase only.

My other concern is with adsense. My site is a video site in which it pulls most of the content from youtube. Will I have any problems or be in violation with adsense? I plan on adding some unique articles very soon. Should I wait until then?

Yes, you should rewrite description on your website while embedding that YouTube video to get better search results.

No, there is no issue in such case.

    Good luck.

Everything you are doing is a complete violation of the terms of youtube.

But hey, when did that ever stop anybody?

Duplicate content is laughable. So laughable, it's beyond funny. You have the exact video YT has...complete duplicate content.

But YT wants you to share videos.....duplicate content, as in most cases as here, is a nonissue, laughable matter.

You are in complete violation of YT. Starting out from the beginning,

"I have a video website where I import a lot of youtube videos....."
