Do Nofollow backlinks have power? Like, if all my backlinks are nofollow, is my offsite seo good or bad?

Generally speaking, no-follow backlinks do not help your SEO. Some people say that if your entire link profile is made up of no-follow links (or do-follow links) it is suspicious to Google. A balance of no-follow and do-follow links is more natural. Keep in mind that nobody really knows if this is true.

If the no-follow link is in a sentence that mentions your company name, it may have some co-citation benefit, however.

No-follow links are not necessarily bad links to get if the place they are being placed is going to generate real, targeted traffic for your site. All social network links are no-follow and you don't hear anybody saying not to market your site on social networks because they are no-follow links.

The bottom line, however, is that you should not be building no-follow links solely for the purpose of SEO because you will just be wasting your time. You should build them for brand awareness and traffic.

That would be a pretty shitty link profile.

If all your links are nofollow (and assuming you have more than just a handful of links), that is a pretty good sign that you have been spamming with crappy link building techniques like blog comments, forum signature and post spam, crappy "guest posts" on sites like Huffington Post and Forbes, and throwing articles into article dumps.

Nofollow isn't good or bad, it's literally nothing as far as ranking pages.

The links might as well not exist.

    Hi S,

No follow backlinks have no SEO benefit, yet, if you get a No Follow from a reputable site it can help your brand.

I have hundreds upon hundreds of No Follow backlinks from the Huffington Post for all the content I post over there. No SEO juice, but I get branding and reputation boosting juice through all these links.

I'd see beyond the SEO, looking at both the relationships you can build with bloggers who link in to your blog as well as the branding potential that links offer you, if said backlinks come from authority blogs.

Well Nofollow clearly means nothing to do on that page so its not good not bad. But Can do wonder with a mixture of dofollow/follow links.

Yes, nofollow backlink has power. Its because it helps you be in the good books of Google. If all your backlinks are dofollow, it may make Google suspicious. So, A webmaster should get some nofollow backlink to avoid such suspicions from google.
If all your backlinks are nofoloow links then it won't help you even a bit in search ranking as you won't get any link juice. The only benefit you can have by such thing is when a user will clicks on your nofollow link they will be redirected to your site.

NoFollow backlinks don't affect your site, but if you continue making backlinks, this the bad selection of a site for backlinks, you can't increase your ranking by NoFollow links, so be careful about selecting the sites. Quality matters in SEO Not quantity.

If all of your links are nofollow, its bad for rankings.
Blog comments are nofollow but still give much boost to Google rankings. So no follow links still work.
