  You don't need them. YouTube video isn't an article on some blog. Watch time and engagement in first few hours are important. Source: I have YouTube channel with over 200k subscribers and I have few semi-viral videos on another channel with almost no subscribers.

You don't rank yt videos by doing anything except info data and total views.

End of story.

backlinks are useless unless the links get massive clicks and views.

And anyone saying finding keywords is just a silliness wannabe-slop-ola.

In my opinion also YouTube improve his algorithm, so another very important thing for YouTube SEO is audience retention. This is how long people tend to watch your video. All right, so this is your average view duration. This is how much of the video people watch, and the higher the better. If someone watches the first ten seconds of your video and clicks away, that's not very YouTube SEO friendly.

First few hours after uploading are critical. Watch time and engagement (comments, likes, even dislikes) are two most important factors in my experience and for this, you need subscribers or you can bring external traffic (Reddit for example). Of course, you should optimize your title. More detailed you can read here https://selleratheart.com/rank-youtu...earch-results/ but as I said without initial traffic you can't expect much. YouTube likes fresh content.

Your videos must have a good and relevant content. Video keywords, if you optimize for Video Keywords, you'll also get targeted traffic to your video directly from Google's first page. Just keep in mind that you don't have to use the same keyword twice and of course don't forget to add your social media accounts to your about page, your Facebook page or profile, Twitter and etc.

Yeah that is correct, watch time is a factor that helps youtube understand if the video is worth or not. Gone are the days when one can just buy views and rank the videos.
