Question: Web host for SEO, it matters who you choose right?

When choosing a web host you need to pick wisely because you do not want to be on a shared server or IP address with spammers who might be screwing up that IP address. Does it work this way still? My research on this topic is 10 years old and I don't know if the people who gave me the advice were right or not.

Well Yes your neighborhood can have a little impact on your rankings but its not confirmed yet.
Best is to start with a shared hosting and as soon as you see a rise in ranking move to dedicated IP to get an upperahand

Hey I got a question. I have a VPS server with 5 sites on the server sharing the same IP address. If all 5 sites are for say 'dog training', and I wanted to rank those 5 sites in Google. Is it bad to have them all on the same server with the same IP? Or should I buy a dedicated IP for each site? Thanks

    Hey Snowcake,

There is no matter how many site you have in one vps server with same topic,
if your site are good content and daily google crowing and indexing it, then i think its should be rank on search Engine.Best way to move on dedicated serve.

More than anything, the thing that is going to affect SEO is the speed of the host company's server and whether or not they have a lot of downtime.

Agreed, but none of those things have anything to do with the web hosting company you select, which is what the questions was about. There are definitely web hosts that have better speed and much less downtime than others.

Page load time and uptime effect SEO.

Everything else is garbage from people trying to "sell SEO"

Page load time really does not impact SEO. Only if the page is extremely slow to the point of basically timing out will it have an impact.
