Angela's Backlinks - Do you leave 1 or 2 links in bio?

It's suggested to leave no more than 2 backlinks.

But, I was wondering if it might be better to only have 1

Any thoughts on this?

I leave one link that goes to my bio page. From that
page I link to other sites. I've never had a site owner
object to the link to my bio.

Thanks for responding Tsnyder! I didn't quite get that though...?

I create a profile on XYZ website just for purpose of leaving backlinks.

Is it best to just leave 1 backlink pointing to my website?
Or should I leave a second one as Angela suggests... pointing to something
      else like my blog.

She stresses no more than 2 as to not look suspicious.
But I thought that maybe 1 might be better?

I think 1 is the way to go. You can fly under the radar that way. If you post more than one link than eyebrows will raise.

          Thanks Sara!

I will do it that way from now on...

Can I ask you a question?
Do you fill in profile info, add photo or what ever?
Or is it best not too?

          Thanks,

            I leave three every time.

Two go to sites I'm trying to promote and the third links to another profile. Chaining profiles together like this increases the speed and likelihood of all the profile links being found.

I don't worry about the site owners. I think they have better things to do than go through hundreds of profile pages of their members to try and see who is linking out through the profiles....that is unless you are spamming up the community and not flying under the radar. But if you are doing that, then it wouldn't matter if you DID just put one link in your profile page.

That's the problem. It's called SPAM no matter how you sugar coat it.

Imagine if people came to your site to do this? How does this create value to the visitor and to Google?

It's this type of "logic" (And I use that term loosely) that can create a "footprint" that can not be undone.

Well, In the world of Internet Marketing isn't everything a trick or tactic?

Come on, Is anyone here "REALLY" contributing anything useful to the world?

Yeah you are right there is a lot of self righteous BS that I get sick of seeing and listening to.
But I will say that I sincerely contribute to people around me and other less fortunate ones when I make a fist full of dollars with IM. So indirectly, yes !!

Articles are very useful to users and your backlink stays there forever.

Profile links are going to be worthless soon anyway. They're all going to be turned into nofollow eventually anyway.

I've done my share of blog spamming on high quality sites to get links.

It's not worth it in the long run because the links don't last forever. They get removed.

          Thanks Everyone!

I like hearing the different views.

To be honest, I have no idea what I'm doing. I'm totally new at all this.

I wish it wasn't always "all about Google"
I wish you could just make an interesting website and people would just magically come visit it. It's just not like that though...

Anyway, this is a good place to learn things...

I post only one link, unless both links are on related content.

Otherwise it would be suspicious if you had something like:

    Biography
    Staplers
    Pumpkins
