OK I know 0% is unrealistic, so there should be another problem around here.

Here is a screenshot of what I mean.


After 10th of September bounce rate levels at 0%. It is some technical issue I gues but i don't know what exactly.

I changed the WP theme on that date, but all other data shows accordingly. And the code for Analytics is inserted via plugin. (not in the head.php file)

Any ideas what to check?

    So drop the plugin and put the code in properly and see what happens. If the data returns to "normal", then you know it is an issue with the plugin.

      Well already been several days, but no significant change has occurred. Bounce rate keeps being low - like about 2% or something.

      Do you think it might be something related with the theme?

    I guess I am wondering why this is so important to you. Bounce rate has nothing to do with how a page ranks and I wouldn't waste a minute trying to figure out why my bounce rate isn't higher. Seems like your time could be better spent trying to get much better links and improving your content and on-page SEO.

      Yes you are right. BR doesnt affect how page ranks, but how do you measure if the content on the page is worthy. Don't you do it by measuring the time people spend on the page and by the amount of people who actually stay vs those who... bounce?

      Btw I changed the theme and now the bounce rate got back to normal.

        What if I get on one of your pages, then my phone rings, I talk for a couple of minutes. While I am on the phone, I click randomly on links on your site. When I'm done with the phone call, I google something else, having never paid attention to anything on your site.

        I did not bounce, I stayed on your site more than 2 minutes. Did I like your content?

    Looking at bounce rate does not necessarily tell you anything. Time on page might, though. If someones spends three minutes on a page and bounces, maybe they found exactly what they were looking for. It really all comes down to what the purpose of the page is and if when they bounced, they really pogo-sticked back to the SERPs and clicked on other results because they did not get the information they desired from your page. Unfortunately, Google doesn't show you what they did after bouncing.

    If the purpose of the page was to get them to click on something else but they bounce, you have a problem.
