Can anyone recommend a good local SEO guide? There is one written by Joy Hawkins called The Experts Guide To Local SEO but costs $1499. With so many free guides out there I would find it difficult to part with that much cash for such a document. She also requires you to pay a $99 a month membership to get updates as they occur.

My favorite topic - Local SEO.

Honestly, I enjoy doing it. If you want, I could write a forum post on how I am doing it so you can go through it until you find a course, it might help you

I'd recommend following Linda Buquet and checking out her local search forum.

Thanks Mike and Steve. I don't understand the purpose of the other posts. Does Warrior Forum give some points or something for the number of post you have even if they are annoying and not helpful?

Your honesty better off just looking at pages on the first pages of Google and then looking at their backlinks. Every local niche is different and they all pretty much require different backlinks. Submitting to directories is a must, but that is where it stops. You're better off just doing it than paying someone a ton of money to learn. If you insist on paying for an education then start out with Amazon's .99 cent books and go from there...I would never pay $1500 for a course on SEO. There is tons of free SEO content on Youtube as well.

Buying .99 books on Amazon about SEO is probably a bigger waste of money than a $1500 course.

Nobody is putting out worthwhile SEO content in a .99 book.
