As for the number of links, check out this site, There, I Fixed It, that was started May 15, 2009 and has 124,000 links as of today. That's roughly 900 day. Don't go over that.

The point is that you probably don't need to worry about the number of manual links you create in a day. You can't physically create too many. You can create too many and raise red flags with certain automated spamming tools but I don't think you're doing that based on what you said. Ultimately, you would like for your site to be like the one above where it automatically attracts new unsolicited links because people like something about your site.

As for the profile links, I understand some forum webmasters are trading emails of people who're using various backlink lists.

keep in mind that just because you build a link on a certain day doesn't mean google is going to find it on that day. They may not find it for days, weeks, months or ever. As long as you're not going all black hat and building thousands of links a day I think you'll be ok.

I do not think that there is any need to worry about the number of backlinks you are getting on a daily basis, if you submitted a real good article thru Article Marketer or some other mass submit service you could quite likely get 1000 or so backlinks the day it is published. And as stated above they may not all be found on the day you submit the article and there will be some sites that will not be spidered until a few days have passed.

When Google dances and your previously highly ranked page suddenly "disappears," it's easy to jump to a faulty conclusion that something you just did caused it. I think that's what leads some to claim that you can build too many links at one time. I have a site that's been on a roller coaster for the past 3 months in the SERPs, but it always settles out back where it belongs. You just have to keep your head down and keep building links all the time. Depending on how competitive the phrase is you're trying to nail down, you might get there fast or it might take weeks or months or even years. Just don't stop.

I think what matters is consistency. Imagine one day you get 100s of links and no more for the week. That would raise a flag. But then again, google works in mysterious ways

Was you using a yahoo, or gmail account?

I have a fairly new site. Is buying backlinks from people who sell this service recommended. It takes so long to register my site individually at each site one by one.

also anyone know if social bookmarking is a good to spend money on too. i see a lot of people selling this service too. I see also text links services for sale too. which one is the best to do or should i be doing all of these. please comment experienced fellow warriors

Here's what I think on backlink building.

Manually building backlinks will never be too fast and/or too much. Your competitors could sabotage your website if that is the case. Also, keep in mind how people link to something phenomenal, for example the discovery of actual aliens on Mars. Do you think at least millions of people will link to that particular source that discovered aliens?

If you are not convinced, then you may try building backlinks as fast as you possibly could, maybe even ask a few friends' help to build these links, to my website. I will gladly let you experiment on the website as much as you want.
