    Seems solid to get on pages 1 and 2 within 3 months. I'd say to be a bit more patient. Get more clear on providing value and building connections, and detach some from search ranking. More than ever, Google is letting the creators and connectors rise to the top of search, and folks who are manipulating the system - or try to - seem to be dropping by the wayside.

    Very vague and the link was removed. Probably a content issue, linking issue, incredibly competitive keywords or it could be one of about 10 other issues.

    You have to beat the people ahead of you in as many ways as possible. For example, if you're trying to get listed for "cheap shared hosting" and the five guys directly in front of you have 500 to 600 words of decent content on their site, you need more.

    Now, this is just an example, as they may also have more/better links and there are other factors. Control what you can control and make sure it's better than those above you.

    What did whoever is #1 do for SEO?

    Is their onpage better than yours? Do they have more backlinks then you do? Are their links coming from better sources...

    (Note, you are interested in the page the links start from, not the site... You want backlinks from pages that have backlinks of their own... Guest-blogging, usually, means that someone let you post your article on their site... on a new page that they're not linking to from their homepage (or any other page that has backlinks). In other words, they let you create content for them and a very weak backlink for you... They might even added the nofollow tag to the link.)

    The list of things you posted above: lots of activities that are not useful no matter how you did them or activities that, if you did them as most people do, are not useful.

    Yesterday, I gave someone I know one backlink from one of my sites. The link I gave her is better than the hundreds of links most people get for their sites. It is better because I gave it to her from a page on my site that's got a couple of dozen of other pages linking to it, all of which have a handful to dozens of backlinks of their own (from within the site and from other sites I control) and because the page I gave her the link from has some 60 backlinks from outside the site.

    Did you ever look into silo structures for SEO? (Yukon, member on this forum, has a few posts where he explains it well).

    Did you ever look into the skyscraper technique?

    Did you ever produce content so good that it's at the level of the stuff the New Yorker or Forbes or Psychology Today would publish? Or stuff equal to what people who have thousands and thousands of views on youtube?

    -> Find baseline ranking.
    Before doing anything else, find out where your page ranks today for the keywords you want to improve. Without a baseline, you will not be able to measure progress.
    Caveat: Don't expect to magically go from position 40 to position 10. Improvement comes gradually, but you need to know your starting point.
    Recommend:Optimize Your Content Marketing Strategy with Keyword Tracking.
    (1) WebCEO.
    (2) SEOmoz Pro.
    -> Explore variations.
    Type your target keyword in the Google keyword tool. You are looking for two things. First, find variations of your target keyword, especially long-tail keywords. Second, look at the competition for each of those keywords. You will use this data later.
    Doing quick keyword research gives you a better idea of how difficult your keyword is and what other options you have.

    Next, go to the Google search engine and type your keyword. Look at these three things:

    - Keywords suggested by Google as you type in your keyword.
    - Pages that appear on the first search engine results page.
    - Suggestions for "related searches" at the bottom of the page.
    -> Revise and confirm expectations.
    -> Review on-page SEO.
    On-page SEO is your starting point, particularly:

    Page titles: Include your target keyword (or variations) but don't do keyword stuffing. Mentioning your keyword in a natural way in the title is enough.
    Google's new RankBrain machine-learning technology is clever enough to associate different keywords and find relevant results, but you still should make sure that your keyword is in the title.
    -> Think internal.
    When trying to improve the ranking position of a particular page, the rest of your site can help a lot: Use variations of your target keyword as anchor text on your other pages and link them to your targeted page.
    Internal linking is great for SEO. Among other things, it can help Google identify the site's important pages and their meaning, as the pages with the most internal links generally are the site's important pages.
    There is a misconception that you should not use keyword-rich anchor text in internal links, but it's time to reconsider. Take a look at the internal links section in a search engine optimization starter guide released by Google a few years ago.
    -> Relevance of the rest of the pages.
    Besides internal links, another measure is to make sure that related content is published on the website. What I mean by this is that you should create pages that target other related keywords.
    -> Don't forget about off-page SEO.
    -> Use social media wisely.
    -> Conclusion

    Advanced SEO tasks, like trying to improve the ranking of a page for a specific keyword, take time. It takes time for Google to notice any changes on a published page, so don't rush to conclusions too quickly.
    The process is straightforward:

    - Optimize your page titles, descriptions, and content for the target keyword
    - Work on your off-page SEO
    - Monitor your ranking positions
    What is important is to have progress and slow improvements with your rankings rather than doing over-optimization, gaining temporary high rankings, and then wondering how to get out of Google penalties.

    Hosting keywords are mostly highly competitive.

    You need to post your backlinks on relevant sites or it might only become a toxic link and effect negatively on your SEO.

    My suggestion try to search and remove toxic backlinks from your Google webmaster tools, post more relevant backlinks on hosting forums, more active on social media , get positive review on FB or Google or 3rd party review sites.

    Best,

    xen

    Conduct a in-depth Audit of your website, see the issues including the duplicate content, meta tags etc, then analysis your backlinks, check for toxic links and request a link removal.
    Now, research some good quality sites to build qualitative backlinks.
    After doing these step, you'll definitely rank on top with your targeted keywords.

    Most of the marketers find it difficult to rank a website as per the requirement due to constant changes in the way of search in Google. Although you have created thousands of backlinks, it won't be of any use if it doesn't contain quality content.

    Being a marketer, you must know which type of content can touch the soul of readers & make them permanent visitors of your content. Share your blogs on social media sites & interact with their active members constantly.

    Daily interaction with the people all around the world through Quora can be a beneficial move to let your target audience know what your content is talking about & why it is so attractive that makes them talk about it.

    If you are in touch with the people who are searching info related to the topic on which you're posting, it could help you to build huge customer base. It will help your keywords to get listed in the first page of Google & other search engines as well.

    Guest posting will help much better than other link building tasks performed on different pages of a website.

    Naked Link
    A URL that is used as an anchor 'www.abcde.com' is a naked link anchor.

    Generic

    It's a very good start that within 3 months your keywords are ranking in the first page in 6 positions that good but now in the second page because backlinks are not strong. It's basically when you are doing tasks on off-page and on-page it's not done high quality. Update content on regular basis, make it unique and eye-catchy. Submit your content on guest posting. Submit links on the social bookmark sites. Do questions answers on Quora.
    In off-page do these tasks:
    Article Submission
    Social Bookmarking
    Question/Answer
    Classified
    Link and Business Directory
    Forum Posting
    Image Posting
    Video Posting
    Blogging
    Document Sharing
    Profiling
    Blog Commenting
    I am sure that your keyword must be rank on the first page.
