According to MIDIA (1), the size of the total music market was US$ 16.1 billion in 2016. The size of the digital-music market, what I am interested in, was US$ 5.4 billion, according to the same source.
From that amount, the share of big labels such as Sony, Warner, and Universal was around 70% or around US$ 3.8 billion.
From the same amount, the share. The share of independent musicians (I mean we, the people from this forum) was around 30% or US$ 1.6 billion.
Therefore, I'm talking about US$ 1.6 billion yearly for us, independent musicians. Therefore, the question is if you are taking the right amount that you deserve. Share your income if you can.
