while I was checking Google Analytics, I noticed 95 % bounce rate at one page. I started to investigate and figured this:
There were 2 pages with identical URL... (I am using WordPress)
- one was: XXX.com/category1/page-name-identical
- second was XXX.com/category2/page-name-identical
The problem is that Google (and other) search engine displayed the snippet for category 1 but when you click on it, it redirects you to the category 2 page. These categories are a totally different things so people bounced.
What I did was that I changed the name and the URL of the category 2 page. But the problem is still there, it now redirects me to the EDITED url which is strange in my opionion.
What should I do? Maybe trying to reindex pages in Search Console? Other ideas?
Thank you very much,
