Linkbuilding is STUPID!

My guess if, this thread will get swamped with dozens of clueless people who still think link building "works." That rumor is only surviving because..

1) Past successes (1990s and 2000's)
2) It's being circulated in information products created by people who have no idea how to rank sites and are just trying to make money selling books on SEO.

Sadly, a TON of IMers, newbie and advanced, still believe this garbage. Just watch their responses to my answer here. Madness will ensue.

Not sure what the two posters above are talking about but "link building" was never one thing. Outreaching to webmasters and doing content marketing link building is still a thing and it works.

If they are talking about spamming sites with links then yes thats no longer effective as it used to be.

If linkbuilding is stupid, Then can you explain the effective SEO Method?

"web 2.0 sites doesn't work" is not true.

link building is stupid if you are building your links in spammy sites, porn sites etc.
