Ranking changing position everyday

Hello.

I have a keyword that I am ranking for. This keyword was my #1 word for bringing traffic to my site. Since the beginning I was also the Rank #1 for this keyword but months ago another site got the first position and now we are "fighting" for the first place.

Using SemRush and of course, searches that I do by myself (using anonymous mode on Chrome), everyday I check my position on this keyword and sometimes I am in first place as sometimes I am the third result.

There are days that by the morning I am #1 and by night I found myself on rank #4.

Why there is this huge variation on my ranking? Now I am more focused on this keyword to guarantee my first position but it seems that everything I am doing is not having the effect that I am looking forward.

Looking forward to hear from you what can be causing this "problem".

Don't completely use keywords with that keyword but try to follow Diversified Links Strategy:

Unique Content - Articles and Descriptions for Blogs, Bookmark and Tier 2 Submissions
    Quality Blog Submissions
    Edu Links Submissions
    Tier 2 Submissions
    Profile Links Submissions
High DA/TF Blogs Submissions (DA upto 99 and TF upto 28)
High RD Blogs Submissions (RD upto 4317)
Social Media Submissions (Upto 32+ Websites)
Tier 2 Submissions of High DA Blogs
Social Media Submissions of High DA Blogs
    Press Release Submission (300+ websites)
Tier 2 Submissions of PR Links
Social Media Submissions of PR Links

    SEO EXECUTION STRATEGY:
    15% Main Keywords
40-45% LSI (8-10 Types of LSI)
    Rest - Naked URLs/Branded Names
    Drip Feed

TYPES OF ANCHOR TEXTS TO USE:

    Exact-Match
Anchor text is "exact match" if it includes a keyword that mirrors the page that is being linked to. For example: 'link building' linking to a page about link building.

    Partial-Match
Anchor text that includes a variation of the keyword on the linked-to page. For example: 'link building strategies' linking to a page about link building.

    Branded
A brand name used as anchor text. For example: 'BHW' linking to an article on the BHW Forum.

    Naked Link
A URL that is used as an anchor 'www.abcde.com' is a naked link anchor.

    Generic
A generic word or phrase that is used as the anchor. "Click here" or "Read more" is a common generic anchor.

    Images
Whenever an image is linked, Google will use the text contained in the image's alt attribute as the anchor text.

Hope that works for your website and improves/stables google ranking.

    Sincerely,
    Steve

You may well lose your ranking at worse and most of them will do no good at best

Bookmarking links are garbage links and the whole idea of tiered link building is you can string link spam into a chain that makes it better. Your advice is about 4 years too old. Google has shut down the effectiveness of link spam greatly

      Profile Links Submissions
Come on guy get with the modern SEO word. profile links are mostly nofollow, always trash no authority links and often removed by the sites they are left on.

Social Media Submissions (Upto 32+ Websites)
Social submission have little to no SEO value directly.

Tier 2 Submissions of High DA Blogs
Tier is just a reference to more spam links

      Press Release Submission (300+ websites)
Pure trash. there are not 300 good websites for press releases and most unpaid for PR submisssions are nofollowed.

      SEO EXECUTION STRATEGY:
      15% Main Keywords
40-45% LSI (8-10 Types of LSI)
      Rest - Naked URLs/Branded Names

There is no such rule on keyword ratios. Google has never stated this. SEO providers like yourself just made up the numbers

Such trash link building may well result in manual penalties for a site and its irresponsible to suggest them for sites you know no details about.

The Op using your advice is likely to lose more position and for longer.

        Thanks!

I've always read that the best way to improve is with good content + On Page SEO.

Unfortunately, even gaining links in blogs/sites from the same niche directly on content my competitor is winning me just with sidebar links.

I investigate and they hired an agency to care of their SEO. I did everything that I've learnt from e-Books and forums but it seems that they are doing a better work.

No more ideas to what to do from now on.

Sidebar links as resource links has some utility. Just be careful where you get those as its also a well known spot for bought links on many sites.

.Edu links submissions are not possible as you obviously a spammer.
      Profile links submissions is useless.
Blog submissions are also useless because most of them are no follow.
There is no social media submissions its only in your dream.
Most of your stated method are showing greediness to acquire links that in reality it will never happen.

  • A good, proper onsite SEO and quality profile links will rank you better on your chosen keywords. Start prioritizing on content and build your links using quality content strategies. This will help you get better profile links.

Well, I've started doing Linking Building directly on content. A lot of blogs with high DA and PA have at least one keyword on their content leading to my site.

My competitor just added some links on sidebars and then got the rank #1.

Add CTA title on your page so you can grab higher CTR than your competitors and when the more users will click on your site it will surely help you to rank higher than your competitor. As well build real social signals to manage the stability of the site.

      Thanks, Noman.

I already have a Facebook Page, Instagram and Twitter accounts that are updated everyday. The Facebook Page has almost 500K likes and a lot of reviews (we are an e-commerce).

Will try adding a CTA to see if it works.

I would be very cautious about changing the title tag of a high ranking page. You are just as likely to send your ranking down drastically as you are to improve it.

If you were on page 2 or 3, I would risk it because you have nothing to lose. Nobody knows you exist at that point. But ranking in the top 5, I would not go messing around with the title tag.

As for the social media stuff, that's not going to help either.

I would focus on getting a few, good quality and relevant links. That is your best chance to take over #1 and keep it.

Thanks, Mike. So I won't do any changes on that.

About the links, I have links on good blogs with high DA and PA. Just for more information, many of the links from the #1 are on the same blog as mine, but their links are on sidebars and the ones to my store are on content.

It happened on my site before but it is because of the algorithm update. What I did is that I re analyze my site (especially onpage). Update, delete, change anything necessary and then do a little bit of offpage optimization and booyah! After a couple of months I was able to get my position back.

I am already doing this. Looking for more backlink opportunities, improving content on the pages (it is an e-commerce so it is a bit hard to do).

Guess that unfortunately I will have to wait some time.

Looks like you need to do a little more SEO work to solidify your rankings. You're probably fluctuating rankings because other sites that are also ranking are in a close competition with yours. You just gotta 'scoot' past them

Well, I was #1 for more than a year and then suddenly started this competition. I really worked hard for that spot.

What would you recommend me to do besides backlink and On Page optimization?

It has been told that SEO Off-Page will shut down permanently, but do you think its possible where every business owner wants to rank his/her website in Google to get the more traffic instantly.

On-Page SEO will remain in top priority for website's ranking as it follows the algorithms of Google which are mandatory. If a website is On-Page optimized, it can well rank in Google without doing lots of hard work in creating backlinks.

Working on improving your content quality & using high authority sites for spreading its awareness across the country could be beneficial for improving a website's rank in Google or to list it on top of it permanently.

Fluctuating a website's rank is always a big trouble for the owners of it. Creating quality backlinks by utilizing the popular sites of social bookmarking, image backlink, QnA site, Web2.0 creation sites etc. will help you to get the best result as you're expecting.
