Can a PDF or digital flipbook really get indexed? / Are they search engine optimized?

Hi everyone, I recently came across this article where they say that your online flipbook gets indexed by Google. Does anyone know if that is true? If so, it would be great, otherwise, it might not be worth it to create such a flipbook if Google won't even index it...

Thanks!

If you create a helpful PDF or flipbook that meets the needs of our audience, yep, definitely go for it. List-building tool, or just a plain helpful resource that your readers will dig. They are concerned with you helping them; not your positioning in Google

I know that my customers/readers are not concerned about my position in Google, but it would also be great to get seen by "new customers" / "new readers" when they look up certain terms in Google
