What do you know about drip feed backlinks?

I think many people don't know drip feed backlinks.
Do you know, what is drip feed backlinks?
If you know, please explain details because I'm confused.
I don't get a bright idea.

    If you are referring to "Drip Feeding" in regard to "velocity" or the number of links within a period of time... If it is say your primary property you are aiming these at, or 2nd tier even.. I would reduce link velocity to say 100 a week or so.... once you have a foundation in tier one and two.. then you can crank the velocity in tier 3 and blast away at 10,000 a day or whatever.

    *** I am in no way saying this is something I would do.. it just seems to be a pretty standard practice methodology ***

    I personally like a bit slower velocity. I pay more attention to the content of the page / site I am getting links from... and to some extent the possible strength of the links... Needless to say maybe 2 or 3 links a week.. sometimes more sometimes less.
