    Try to think in terms of what might happen 'naturally'. If you have really interesting content on your site, what would possibly happen?

    Visitors go to your site, some of whom have their own sites. Perhaps your content supports their own beliefs about the topic? If so, they may write a blog post or article and link to your page about a part of the topic.

    In other words, you want to get backlinks that are relevant to your own content. They don't have to agree with your beliefs about it, but that their content is of the same overall topic as yours.
