Domain authority loss after domain change

Hi everyone,

I'm dealing with a domain authority issue.

Client's website went under domain change.
Migration was completed in September.
I can see everything was successful and every link on domain A now redirects correctly to domain B.

However, Moz domain authority for domain A remains higher than the one for domain B.
In addition, the ranking of keywords for domain B keeps getting worse.

Any idea on what could be wrong and how to recover domain authority?

Thanks for your help.

Start with your site audit. Then check your backlinks and highlight your best backlinks. And then fix the 301s. Don't forget to check your site for mobile compliance. The most important thing is that tell Google you have moved.

Moz's domain authority doesn't matter. It might never go up for the site you migrated to. No big deal. Search engines do not rank sites based on Moz's DA.

When you migrated the site, did you redirect every individual URL to the corresponding new URL on the new site or did you just redirect everything to the home page of the new site?

Also, why did they do a redirect in the first place?

I think that OP hasn't redirected correctly.

There is a lot of issues that needed to be taken care of if migrated.

And secondly who cares about MOZ. Its a third party metrics that has nothing to do with the SERP's.

No. You are dealing with an incompetent problem: You.

    Stop taking clients.

Man I can't believe how many rip offs there are...

Good thing seo is not fatal.... you people would be responsible for many deaths.

I think you have a problem just a little bigger than incompetence.
But thank you again for your "very constructive" comment: it certainly taught so many new things to this community.

I agree with the others. In addition, when Moz's bot visits the 2 sites, it will (should) adjust. In other words, you just wait. How long? Dunno!

But, c'mon, man! Why do you even ask about moz's authority guess?
