Content Network Ads need to be approved by Editorial before going live. This may take a few business days.

Thanks, Kirk. It's been nearly 2 weeks. No reply from support either.

Well give us the nitty gritty.

    What market are you targetting
How relevant is your campaign, adgroup, keywords, landing page?
Have you checked your QS to make sure you haven't been slapped?

There can be numerous things going on, and without the details it's hard to help

I'm using about 20 highly relevant keywords in one adgroup. Landing page and ads all have the same keyword. I'm using the keywords in a separate "search" campaign and am getting clicks at $.58. But in the content network, no impressions even for $1.00!
It's a very long tail weight loss niche.

I understand that for Content campaigns you should rather go with very broad or general keywords. If your niche is too long tail maybe that's the problem, there are just not many sites relevant enough to show your ads.

Either that or you should expand your keyword list and find heaps of related keywords to find out which ones trigger the ad placement.

add more keywords, some times it needs more than 20, actually the more the better.

another way is to work out what keyword phrases google knows of and related to the site, so run the url through google suggestion tool, or use keyword elite 2.0, and use the advanced google site targeter to place targeted ads.

Are you using broad or exact match keywords? Also, is your campaign on accelerated? Turning accelerated delivery on might help. Have you researched your keyword enough to see if there is any traffic for it?

Btw, if your doing long tail keywords, 20 is very little for the content network. If I launch a campaign on the content network I have well over 250 keywords to start.

    Hi, thanks...
    Yes..I have it on accelerated
    Ok..I'll try adding more keywords
I did broad, phrase, match for several targeted keywords that get about 100 daily searches for broad. I thought that would be plenty to get at least some impressions, but obviously not.
I'll broaden them up...but then doesn't that defeat the purpose of a targeted campaign?

Thanks again. I added a few hundred related keywords (all broad) using Loz' idea. But I did happen to notice that there is no quality score on any keyword. I'll see if any impressions tomorrow.

For content, your keys/adgroup should be around 30-45. No longtail keywords, forcus on the 1-3 broad match only type of keywords. Also, the thing you need to realise about content, is your not building a keyword list for an adgroup, you need to focus on a theme.

So many people struggle in content trying to build their campaigns just like a search campaign, and they crash and burn. Content is a whole diff ball game, and what works in search, doesn't work in content.

First thing you need to do is check your campaign settings. It is possible that you have set it to Placements only. Make sure the speed of delivery is set to accelerated. Make sure that the right location is set.

Check your ads and make sure that they are all approved.

Increase the bid price and watch carefully. Set your budget to a low value (couple of $) so you don't overspend and see if that gets you any impressions. Keep increasing until you start to see them come in - remember there is a 3hour delay.

If you still don't have any impressions then the problem is possibly with your AdGroups. Make sure they are formed with relevant keywords. You only need 20 words in a group BUT the words must all be related and form a theme. They do not need to be huge long tail phrases. The Content Network establishes a theme by the way the words relate and this is best done with the terms searched more frequently. Use some more specific terms to narrow down the theme of highly searched terms. You work out your specifics once you have data (impressions) coming in.

Make a few different AdGroups with different themes as you might be competiting in either a competitve area or the 'theme' might not be searched for enough.

You've been very helpful, but I can check off on everything and am still not getting impressions. Here's summary:

    I'm set to accelerated
    I'm not just on placement
    Ads have been approved
Campaign set up nearly two weeks ago
    Keywords are relevant
I have include a few hundred keywords all around a theme and derived from Google's keyword tool using my URL and also using wonder wheel
I have used broad keywords now versus long tail
There is good traffic for the keywords
My bid has been raised to over 2x what it is for my search campaign

Hmm..But...still not seeing quality score for anything...and STILL no impressions

    Have I been slapped?

That is possible. I am going to try something with 2 of my campaigns to let you know how the landing page impacts impressions. I just swapped a landing page from my custom squeeze page to a direct offer iframed at the same URL. The url won't change - just the content. The direct offer landing page really lacks content.

My impressions did dry up when my Aussie campaign was swapped over but I will try it for sure with the UK - it gets a lot more impressions with my custom page...I will swap the Aussie one back to my custom page.

It will take a few hours as it is early morning over there but will let you know.

It takes time for your content to be published. Admins usually check the content you submitted.
