Hi,
I have a domain name in French and I want to make content on the website in English, is that bad for SEO?

  • Nah. Keyword-rich domains have little, if any, impact on SEO these days. That's the running belief by a lot of people, including myself. Now, if you were talking pre-Panda then it would have a slight impact.

Don't worry about it. Consider it a brand.

  • A domain name has zero effect on rankings with Google. Actual people who speak English might be a little confused or turned off by a french domain name and more than anything, it might be hard for them to remember, but it won't have any effect on your rankings.

  • There was time when domain name was an important element in ranking a website. now the trend and logarithms have changed. domain name is just a part of online fashion to some extent. Now the content is the real power. if you are strong enough at building a concrete, logical and relevant content for your Blog or product then you are one who can snatch the big piece of cake from the competition.

    • That's what I learned exactly in a training about creating an Amazon affiliate site.
      Thank you very much
