Can any Company Rise Above or At least Equal Google on Search Engine Generated Traffic

I don't know about you but I believe Google is not being so fair to blogs/website who strive so much to get ranked at the top of SERPs but get lesser traffic due to ads from Google.

What then is the essence of SEO if it can't be transformed to maximum traffic generation?

Is it not better to pay for keywords we wish to rank for and stay on top rather than struggle to rank on top?

Is these many ads from Google on top of keywords we strive to rank for not denying us to benefits of SEO?

I think this can be drastically reduced if a good competitor comes on board.

Many new search engines now base there results from Googles, meaning they are just copying Google's results.

Do you think a new and serious competitor with lesser ad can help us maximize search engine traffic?

Ofcourse I do and so are many other SEO experts. But the result is always minimal even when you find yourself on top of the SERPs.

Compare your competitors backlinks with yours. See and evaluate how much good backlinks they have and what you have. Check for the differences & try to overcome it.

You don't seem to understand. Okay, I have 3 keywords I am ranking number one on Google SERP but I believe that I am not getting maximum traffic due to results from ads with the same keyword being placed on top of my page.

I think anything is possible. Sure, theoretically a new competitor could come along and take a huge chunk of Google's market share. If that happens, don't be surprised when they keep charging more and more for their ad space until they have equaled or exceeded what it costs to advertise with Google. There is only so much space for ads and in a competitive marketplace, the demand for that limited space will always dictate the cost of it.

Hi John, those kind of paid traffic is not the best as it hardly converts. I rather advertise on Google then. Is there no free solution?

I think it is possible but it will be a longterm. You just need to create fresh content and do SEO well. That maybe enough.

  • Not being fair? You realize Google is a business and exists to make money. They can operate and do things the way they want. There's nothing fair or unfair about that. Echoing expmrb, search results below the ads still get clicked on so best you can do is do the best you can to rank there. Besides there's nothing you can do about it. Google is not going to decide one day to be "fair" and no put paying ads at the top.

As for a competitor doing what you suggest, that's just a fantasy. There is no way any company will start a new search engine and not monetize in some way. These things require money - lots of it - and ways to recoup that investment. That's what a business is.

I believe those search engines you mention using Google's results are just that: just ordinary people for the most part using Google's resources and hoping to monetize with ads. Such an entrepreneur would need lots of money to supplant Google, Bing and Yahoo. And I doubt that in the end they would keep their engine ad-free.

Thank you Lucid for the contribution. I'm hoping that the new company can seek an advanced way to monetize their search engine while sites with good seo comes on top. Facebook is currently working on reducing ads shown on our timeline to maximize user engagement etc. I also believe anything is possible, one day, Google might be a thing of the past like yahoo.
