How to rank for a VERY VERY small niche?

I have a product, it's an accessory to a more expensive item. It's VERY niche and small.

I've made a website for selling - it's actually an exchange - the long term plan is to let other sellers sell.

Do a google search and only eBay, Gumtree and debop.com show up. 2 or 3 other websites show up as well.

So... no competition - GREAT!
But... 2 weeks in, I'm not at the top and am not dominating.
(The words of an ambitious newbie!)

OK... so... I didn't expect to be on any page over night.

Any tips and advice? I'm writing original blog posts most days - these are just my opinions and are not outright sales pitches at all.

Any advice would be great.

    If you are already at the top then what's the problem?

    See your competitors what they are doing. They maybe least in number but they are doing something to outrank you.

    Constantly pumping out blog articles is not going to help you rank unless each of those blog articles is optimized around a completely different long tail search term that people are using to find this accessory.

    This is basic SEO stuff that is the same for small niches or big ones. Create a well optimized page for each search term you want to rank for. Get real links to the pages from other related websites that decide to link to your page(s) - not worthless links that you can place, yourself.

    First, it's only been 2 weeks. Second, what you did doesn't really prove if it is competitive or not. Third, blogging doesn't rank pages. In fact, posting articles often, if you don't know what you are doing, can actually have a negative impact on your rankings. Depends on your site structure and how self-contained the blog is.

    the problem is that there no competition at all.
    no one is making web pages to sell.
    you can only get on ebay, gumtree and depop - and nowhere else.

    i have many pages with XYZ for sale.

    ouch! i've been spending time... writing interesting viewpoints. LOL.

    if i do NOTHING else, will i get on the first page eventually?
    the first page of results isnt even a full page of results!

    If you are jst ranking for a Keyword or phrase that has no other sites .... wondering on what could be the search volume of that keyword.
    You know that there is no competition ... can u try finding other related searches & rank for them? Often, you could rank for a very different term.
