New website with SSL, do I still need Really Simple SSL plugin?

I started a new website and before I done anything with it I installed the certificate and changed the URL structure to https://

Now, do I still need to use this plugin? (Really Simple SSL plugin)

I installed it but is it actually needed?

Sorry if this is a silly question, I've not got much experience with SSL.
