What's your CTR on AdWords and how to improve it?

Hey dear Warriors,

I just started using AdWords recently and I'm trying to figure out how to make the most from it. The first thing I've made a mistake with is making the search terms broad - so I ended up getting a bunch of clicks from irrelevant searches. Anyway, after fixing that I get less clicks - but at least they are more targeted.

Anyway, at the moment my CTR is currently around 1% - some days a bit over that.

Do you have any tips on how I can improve that, and other ways to make AdWords work more effectively?

Thanks,
Jack

    Use the 3 bolds.

    Keyword in headline
    Keyword in Description
    Keyword in url

You can use a vanity url (doesn't exist, but is legal)

    Like, yourwebsite.com/keyword

Split test the 3B ads compared to the one you have now and check CTR.
If it doesn't improve, your ad is written poorly.

Adwords users love simplistic ads. Give them exactly what they want.

If you are promoting electric scooters, tell them exactly in each line.

    Headline: Latest Electric Scooters
Description: Browse Top Of The Line Electric Scooters
Description L2: Best prices on Electric Scooters
    Url: MyScooterWebsite.com/ElectricScooters

It sound "robotish" but it truly works.

    Give it a split test.

    Cheers

A strong call to action helps. Tell the users what you want them to do. Always use your main keyword in the headline and appeal to the consumer's emotion. If you haven't already, check my sig for some more tips on writing good ad copies.

If you are using multiple keywords per adgroup than (assuming you're on the search network) try going through and analyse those keywords that are getting loads of impressions but no clicks, therefore dragging your CTR down. You my see a pattern about which ones are converting.
