Hi all,

One of my friends site is a Job Portal operating in two countries (India and USA) with same primary domain name.

For Example
www.xyx.com/us
www.xyz.com/in

now my doubt is

1.should the /us and /in would repeat for all the pages like

www.xyz.com/us/about
www.xyz.com/in/about

www.xyz.com/us/login
www.xyx.com/in/login

also for
www.xyz.com/us/java-jobs-in-arizona
www.xyz.com/in/java-jobs-in-new delhi

Is this process correct as per SEO ?

2. If above links are correct , while working on off page SEO will search engines differentiate between the links
submitted for US and India.

3. Out of your experience could you suggest would their be any problems which might occur in future
with this approach.

Please do clarify me on this ASAP.

In general where countries are involved. People use different versions of a site. Such as domain.co.in or domain.co.uk or domain.com

Agreed. A subdomain is how most people handle this and they are treated as separate websites by Google.

If your website is focused on an audience larger than just one country, you probably have spent some time thinking about the best ways to organize and optimize your site ... For example, a U.K. targeted subdomain might be a domain.co.uk while an Australia would be domain.com.au.

I would not play around with subdomains if you are mindful of SEO. There are plenty of case studies showing that applying subdomains resulted in worse SEO outcomes.

As long as you are operating under one name, such as xyz, consider it as a brand. That said, a brand does not need more than one about page . Write the about page as an international organization.

I believe a very good URL option for you is having countries in separate inner pages:

    www.xyx.com/us
    www.xyz.com/in

Why? Google treats every inner page as an individual website. That is the reason how hundreds of companies are able to rank individual inner pages in different towns and countries.

The way a single domain can have several inner pages each ranking in different locations is the way you will be able to rank your inner pages in US and India.

I hope this helps. Good luck and enjoy the process.
