Page losing rankings on Google

Hello,

I'm not sure why, but I need a bit of clarification.

Sometimes, when I write a content that drives tons of traffic to a WordPress blog, this ranks and continually drives traffic from google for a few days and thereafter, it suddenly disappears from search result for that key phrase.

I've seen this happened to this particular WordPress blog a few times.

Any ideas as to why this happens??

P.S: The entire blog isn't affected. Only that page is often the one that's affected. No backlink was built to the page.

Content was well written, optimized. Ranks for a few days, gets good traffic and suddenly disappears from google search and traffic drastically reduces.

Please, any ideas as to why this could be happening? Does it have anything to do with my host?

I am of the opinion that google will sometimes rank new content high to test it. If user experience is high it will remain. If dwell time is low the ranking will drop

You need to focus on the on page and off-page SEO work with the content of the blog. This will improve your ranking on Google and traffic will also be increased definitely.

I think you have posted content on the multiple website. That can be reason for removing the blog and content not unique according to quality guidelines. Simply just create the rich content with including your keywords. Keyword density should be 1-1.5% in the content. Keyword stuffing can also be issue for content removal.

I haven't personally posted the content on multiple site. Except of course, someone copies the content word for word. Plagiarism is something we sometimes suffer in this part of the world.

However, i haven't seen any content of mine rank for that keyword ever since. Just other competitors i have known for a while.

    Hello,

ok as long as you did unique content with no blackhat, and format is correct, you should be fine, now you must be using, seo all in one or yoast,, then use Google XML Sitemaps, and do not summit content to Google only use xml, and all should rank fine,

Now just know, your SEO must be perfect to rank well and not be pulled

I just posted 2 weeks ago, on one of my sites, and my post is number one and has not moved for almost 2 weeks, so I also don't expect to be outranked on that new post anytime soon.

    Ok hope this helps

    Thanks Rob.

Format? It's a wordpress blog. No blackhat was done. I currently use yoast which also has an xml feature in it.

A lot of nonsense answers in this thread. There are two most likely possibilities.

The first one is Google's QDF algorithm. It basically artificially ranks new content a bit higher than normal. That could be the issue, but rarely do I find a site where Google is using that on it.

The second and most logical explanation is that you are using a blog format on your home page. This happens a lot. For most websites, the home page is the most authoritative page on the site, and so it provides the strongest links. When a new post is made, it shows up at or near the top of the home page. As more posts are made, this post falls down the page, weakening the link it is getting from the home page. Eventually, it rolls off the home page entirely really weakening the links pointing at it.

This dynamic structure causes a site's internal linking structure to change constantly and is the most likely reason for the sort of results you are seeing.

What I would do is write other related article on my blog that will send a link to that page you want to rank.

Because maybe you concern about backlink creation but you need to focus on your content.
In lastest google algorithm, CTR and dwell time are most important things to rank any keyword and grab traffic from google.

First you have to check the on page status. Your website should be SSL, mobile friendly, good loading time and Meta part should be proper optimized.

On page and off page does help for this scenario. Try optimizing this site for better results.
