Ranking for a lot of keywords but stuck in 10 spot now what should I do

Our website ranks for a lot of good keywords but we're stuck in the 10 11 and 12 spots for hard keywords. What should I do and what's best way to get back links

    though I am sure some people will try to answer there is in fact no way of knowing whats needed until we can look at the competition. Getting more backlinks might in fact hurt if you get the wrong ones (but more likely to do nothing).

    backlinks are usually what stops a site from ranking higher but spammy links don't work like they used to

    Check your competitors backlinks and than optimize your link profile keeping those in mind.

    What do you exactly mean by this statement?

    I think you mean you are having trouble ranking for long tail keywords but I am not sure!

    Keywords are important for rankings but what even more important is how you are using the keywords in your articles in your website/blog!

    Also how competitive are those keywords that are not ranking higher on search engines,

    here is where you have to make sure you do things you have control over and you don't have control over how competitive certain keywords are,

    what you do have control over is finding keywords with less competition in the same niche and ranking for those because at the end of the day what matters is getting your message out to the world and if certain keywords aren't helping you do that go back to the keyword research tool and find keywords with less competition that will get you there!

    assuming you have page a to target keyword a
    then i would suggest to create page b, page c and so on to target keyword a
    of course with better content

    by doing this you have more army to attack the keyword
