Changing content, effect keywords?

Hello,

I am looking to update content on one of my pages and will have someone potentially rewrite it all, but keep all the same keywords that are all ranking within the page. By having this done will it effect the ranking of those keywords?

Thanks,
HS

  • Probably not.

  • If you are adding content to the existing content then it will not affect, If you are replacing with new content then it may affect on your keyword ranking.
  • The density of each keyword in your content has a negligible effect on the actual rankings. As long as you have them naturally spread out across the page without stuffing them, rankings should not change.

If the new content is considerably longer than the original, you may be seeing some positive gains, due to the fact you would rank for more keywords, which would result in more clicks and impressions, which in turn would affect your overall rankings.

Good luck and enjoy the process.

  • If it's better quality content most likely it will have no negative effect...or you may experience even better ranking for your keywords ..

  • So after my content was updated and rewritten on some paragraphs and more content was added, my existing keywords did not change in rank, which is good ,because I rank in the top 3 for quite a few of them. I am also ranking for alot of low volume LSI keywords on the first page.
