We've got Kelvin from HumanProofDesigns giving a good point about Niche Site SEO vs Authority Site SEO and it's a great read for those who are still starting out or learning about SEO!

If you've been around the block with affiliate SEO then you've likely come across the dilemma of whether to build a "niche site" or an "authority site".

It's yet another decision you have to make before mentally preparing yourself for a new project. It's also something I'd like to help you overcome today and also never think about again...

Here's the truth:

Authority sites are just bigger versions of niche sites. You can think of niche sites as little babies, or starter affiliate sites, and authority sites are the big brothers and sisters.

    Hello Kelvin,

This is a premium content you got there . I strongly agree with the part that experimentation is at the core of being an SEO practitioner. From my experience, things that work for one project not necessarily will work for another.

There are so many aspects of SEO and because nothing happens in isolation, we should always pay attention to the big picture when gathering feedback from any recent changes we made to the website.

I would like to share my thoughts about PBNs that you mentioned in the article as well. Even though there is still plenty of people that would sware by PBN effectiveness, I would stay aware from future PBN use.

The reason for it is simple. Since PBNs are mostly expired or expiring websites, that means they were not maintained for a significant length of time. I think the quote: "You're either growing or dying. Stagnation does not exist in the universe" by Steve Siebold, perfectly captures my point here.

Links are either being actively strengthened or they are weakening with time. Therefore, a majority of PBNs are slowly losing their power unless you are maintaining the traffic to them, updating their content as well as making sure they do not lose their backlinks over time.

I believe the best links you can ever get to your site are the links you get when you build a relationship with the site owner. That link will not only bring you a referral traffic but you can be certain that those links will get even stronger with time because that site owner is working on his/her site page the same way you do.

Good luck with everything and enjoy the process.

Thanks Tom, appreciate the kind words and even more the response.

I think it often goes back to why you are blogging. Hopefully it isn't just for traffic either and the KPI is something else such as dollars.

      Cheers mate!

Niche sites are stepping stones to build an authority site and this will take time as you reach targeted audience to build up connection and trust.
