Does Google Page Rank Still Count?

I want to sell some aged websites with content on them.
Some of them have Google Page Rank but does it still count today when it comes to SEO?
Does having Google PR increase the worth of my websites?

Thanks.

You have no idea what the PageRank is of any of those websites. Google still uses PageRank, but they stopped releasing the data publicly in 2013.

I used Check Page Rank net to check page rank. Here is what they tell about PR:

"PageRank is back for 2017! Technically it never went away, it was just not publicly reported by Google anymore. PageRank is back for 2017 thanks to the Open PageRank initiative.

That's where CheckPageRank.net can come in handy. We are now reporting the open source PageRank number which provides the same simple 1 to 10 ranking that website owners around the world have come to know and trust for years! Plus our new cPR metric will be the latest authority number (0.00 to 10.00) that weighs together other important ranking metrics with our proprietary algorithm, much like Google has been doing, to come up with a number much like what the old PageRank used to be. So you will still be able to see how your site is ranking against similar sites so you can optimize it to get the best ranking and gain more traffic. The best thing is, you can keep coming back to check on your progress and know that you'll get the most accurate results because we use several metrics to calculate your cPR Score and provide you with the most precise results possible to help you improve your website."

Not so much. Because they are not public anymore.

Google stop considering PR for long. So it won't update with time and that is the reason it is not considered now. instead of PR, DA and PA are considered nowadays. so if you want to sell the site, You can check the DA and PA. The 50+ score will be considered as good.

    Hi Felix,

DA - or Domain Authority - seems to be the rage these days when folks are looking to sell sites, or, when potential clients want to place sponsored posts on blogs. If anything do focus on DA but beyond that, I figure that traffic and income earned through the site are key bargaining chips.

Page Rank is definitely a dinosaur buddy. Long extinct.

It doesn't matter what they are saying. They are lying.

Google has not publicly released PageRank data since December of 2013. That means any data you are checking at that site is 4 and a half years old and totally inaccurate.

As per my knowledge I think "Pagerank" always will be an integral part of the Google algorithm but since 2013. PR is important to particular pages of your website. Instead it only impacts one page at a time, but if you have multiple pages ranking high it will have a positive impact on your entire website because of something called domain authority.

You really should not be posting in SEO forums as you clearly have no idea what you are talking about.

Yes it is not a ranking factor, i'm sure they have an internal system but nothing that is published. The last pagerank update was a bit of a mistake as i recall so don't use it as a signal.

No worry about Page Rank. Nowadays, Domain Authority is the main factor which is considered while selling a website

Wow, just the same question it has been asked since 2013, let me ask it in the forum again to increase my post count, instead of searching the previous millions answers that was anstered.

Of course, Google is positive that PageRank still matters. It helps the search engine determine the most trusted material for a particular query.

Google has officially closed the page rank algorithm long time before. And currently it is in the last updated version of 2013. Which don't offer much value to the SEO. so don't worry about that. You need to focus on PA and DA of the websites which are still with you.

Google Still Uses Pagerank and have not closed it down!!!!

DA and PA are useless metrics as they are not used in the ranking algorithm by any search engine

Its absolutely incorrect. PR is not long gone. Its just not public now. And DA/PA are third party metrics so how come their numbers are going to effect?!!

No Page Rank is almost obsolete it doesn't have any effect on SEO and neither its going to give any value to you if you're going to sell the website.

At a time, not so long ago, people were making lots of money by showing the PageRank of their sites to the clients. Also, the SEO professionals were charging money based on the Pageranks that they were able to achieve. This was probably a big reason for Pagerank's existence. This is also the reason why this was misused a lot, and eventually led to many malpractices.
And yes, the Pagerank is still existent and will still be existent as long as Google is there.

Yes, PR counts but MOZ Domain Authority is the only publicly available metric at the moment to go on. Google doesn't care about domain authority, but it is a reasonably close approximation to PR.

Google Page Rank has no worth now instead the people who buy sell sites are interested in DA and PA of sites. DA and PA are moz stats.
