Ranking site in multiple countries

For one of my sites, for some keywords, we are getting our site listed in Google for USA. But, it does not get rank for other countries.

For few keywords, it ranks on the first page even first or second position, but for other countries, it does not get listed on any google page.

How should I go about fixing this? How can I get my site listed in multiple countries.

  • You can try to create sub domains to target multiple countries and this is to tell the search engine that you have specific page for the target region.
  • Having sub domains like .co.uk or .ca can help with that (UK/Canada) for example.
  • Thanks. But, if my main domain is ".com", I will have sub-domains with .com only for the same TLD.

    And actually, I want my same page to be spread in maximum possible countries. This is most useful blog and currently, it is getting google ranking in US only. For other few countries, it was ranking on some keywords and now they are also gone. And idea what could be the reason? And why my same page is not getting listed in multiple countries?

    In HTML tag, I have seen lang="en-US", can this cause such issue? What will happen if I change this to lang="en"? Any help is much appreciated.
