It seems my website has been hit with an algorithmic Google penalty, however, there is no message in WMT (No manual action message). What may be the other causes of algorithmic Google penalty? What should I check for this?

First you need to check If the site/pages are indexed by doing a site:domain.com search on Google.

    Example: site:warriorforum.com

    Are your pages indexed?

Keep in mind, just because a page doesn't rank for a keyword doesn't mean there's a penalty.

The best place to check is Google Webmaster Tools. You have to check the last option in Search Console viz. Security Issues. If there is any problem with your website it will be indicated here. You can also check it via Google Search. Just key in - site:domain.com

If your site is not visible in the SERPs that means that your website has got hit by some alogrithm

    Hi Kishan,

As you follow the tips on this thread for seeing if you've been hit with a penalty, I'd suggest diving into strategies now that help you avoid Penalties in the future.

Set yearly time frames for blogging growth.

Create helpful content persistently across a wide range of platforms.

Build strong bonds with top bloggers in your niche by helping them out and by commenting on their blogs.

Pinpointing the penatly will give ya some insights certainly and following the basic steps above help you avoid Google Algo penalities forever.

Just a thought as you proceed my friend.

  • Here are the tools that can help you to check that, but I think most of them are going to cost you money:
    1. Moz Change History
    2. Panguin Google Penalty Check Tool
    3. Rank Ranger
    4. Fruition's Google Penalty Checker Tool
    5. SEMRush Sensor
    6. Accuranker's Google 'Grump' Rating
    7. MozCast

  • Google Webmaster Tools is your best resource. You'll see not only index issues and what pages are indexed versus not indexed, but also any penalties.

    Scott.
