Can too many anchor text/links from one page on my website to other pages of my own website harmful my website SEO? If so, how much is it? Is this considered stuffing?

There is no data that I know of to suggest that it is harmful at this point unless it is blatantly manipulative. Then again, I could have missed a study about it. That said, nobody knows the future and it is not out of the realm of possibilities that Google may someday penalize spammy internal links in much the same way they did external links with Penguin.

If you want to be safe, not sorry, you might consider treating internal links the same way as external ones. In other words, try not to use the same exact keyword rich anchor text and only link when it is helpful to a site visitor to do so. Rand Fishkin did a Whiteboard Friday about internal links about a year ago that you might want to take a look at.

The importance of internal linking was proved a long time ago. For sure, spammy links could influence website positioning negatively and result in penalizing, which is really dangerous for the website. I recommend you should put necessary internal links. They are sensible and useful and influence SEO position in a positive way. Spammy links could be penalized, which can lead to rather negative consequences for the website, including but not limited to losing its ranking, dropping out from Google search result, etc.

Mainly don't abuse the anchors and don't just create crap pages for links.

Internal links structure your site and show Google what pages are important based on how you link to them.

If you stick to linking without search engines in mind, you'll be fine.

If you're stuffing anchor text rich links in posts it could be construed as over-optimization. There are plenty of studies on that. I agree 100% with you that they should be treated as external links.

Agreed. Internal links are helpful when they help Google get a better picture regarding the content on a site.

Wiki has beaucoup amounts of link equity. Go ahead and mimic their tactics and you may regret it. Good luck though!

Crap links....to your pages? Then your whole site is crap.

Every big site...AND I MEAN EVERY BIG SITE....internally (and externally) links like mad men.

Why would you not do the same?

Have you never glanced at the bottom of amazon.com? As just one example...

You people come up with all sorts of BS...no wonder you come here after failing....

Oh yeah....I guess you never glanced at the pages here either....just saying.

  • I don't think so unless you are driving people where they would read completly an irrelevant information compared to the previous one.
On the other hand, why would you choose to drive too much people from Page to page?

If it is forced, obsessive and the content is thin, yes. Since you ask, you likely doubt. This means you are likely forcing it with 5 or 10 or 20 links per post. But 2-3 links works fine, per post. Like cooking fish, easy does it on internal linking. Focus on creating new content versus heavy linking internally, with old content.

Internal links are most useful for establishing site architecture.
search engines all have a rough crawl limit of 150 links per page before they may stop spidering additional pages.
So use anchor text/links in a smart way and start doing it with the important pages of your site.
