Weird Google Indexing Behavior

So I setup a new real estate blog last week. Wrote a 1600 word article and posted it up complete with three images. SEO'd it to the max.

Got busy and didn't do my normal website startup routine. (add google analytics, add site to webmaster tools, create sitemap and add to webmaster tools, create privacy page and link to it in the footer, bookmark with bookmarking demon) Only thing I did was make sure the ping when out to a large ping list when I published this first article.

This morning, seven days later I checked and the site still wasn't indexed. So I blamed myself and did the rest of my setup except for bookmarking demon.

I wrote another 2,000 word article tonight and just published it 5 minutes ago. Went to check to see if the site was indexed and ONLY the new post was indexed. The homepage is not, the first article is not, the tags are not, privacy page is not....nothing but the new article.

Weird.

Main thing which helps speed up your indexing is putting AdSense ads up, the second is using Google Analytics.

But first always add your site using webmaster tools.

I never use and really don't see the point of sitemaps, I find them pretty much worthless and too much of a hassle.

If you complete all the SEO technique then i suggest you that please place code of webmaster tools and then do some social bookmarking and directory submission.

Because if you have any new website or Blog then its not possible for spider to track it and index it so do some submission and then your site start caching frequently.

Ok I had the same thing with one of my new blogs but in a few days all the site was indexed it looks like google is seeing the site but indexing one of the pages due to page rank juice but once it works all of it out it will index all the pages

I woke up this morning and all the pages were indexed. Guess it just was taking it's time.

Rozzito - I build all my sites with either Wordpress or xSitePro. Both will build the sitemaps for you and keep them current automatically...so it's never been an issue for me.

I face the same problem. Google did not index my wordpress blog eventhough I have a lot of backlink form social bookmarking and other websites with PR 1 and 2.
