Example of Great Landing Page!

So I hear everyone say that they have great landing pages. My question would be what does one look like. I have been testing out like 40 of them and I find I am not having great success with any of my campaings. My CPA right now is about $300.00. My average cost per lead is about $33.00. I will provide the link to one of the landing pages I am working on. Forgive and For Debt. This is not a CPA offer. Again I am testing it right now but so far not really doing much and cant figure out why. There is a call to action, all the proper credentials (I dont have them functioning right now). The clients information will be secure and I am also providing my direct number. I see so many landing pages with really bad creative I dont get it.

  • Get rid of the animation. Have an attention grabbing headline there (I like become debt-free in 12 to 36 months). Explain more about your service instead of point form you have in the animation. Give the reader a reason to call or fill out information. You're not doing that very well.

    • Here is something you can read about for creating a successful landing page.

By the way, I see that your web page is more of a squeeze page rather than a landing page.
    • Have to agree, it's a great "looking" page, but unfortunately, looks and appeal don't lead to conversions (that often)... you've gotta smash those psychological levers to get people to act.

Direct their attention, reduce distractions and guide their actions. Good luck and kudos so far... clever domain name btw, good job
  • Here is my first impression: the page seems "too busy" for the reader to quickly see what the site is about. Everything is professional and in good taste, but to me, it would be nice to draw the viewer in fast and hit him with the best benefit of what you're offering - leave no question about the benefit of staying on the site and reading further. Since you may only have a few seconds to capture attention, I feel it would be best to use a main headline that reveals precisely what the prospect will find at the site.

    • As always I thank all of you who replied to my post but I still am waiting to see an example of a good landing page. Maybe I am just missing the point. Most landing pages I see have generic pictures and look pretty simple. Is simple better? I am going to make some updates on my page and clean it up. But I must say it does look at lot better than many of the other things I have seen that are out there! However the conversions are not there. Man this internet marketing stuff is hard. I mean really the application is in there face and it seems pretty obvious what we are offering. Why do you have to make the call to action so in your face? I will re work the site in the morning and post it back up hopefully I can nail it this time around.

  • It's not about how the page looks. Templates won't help sell. It's about the words. Words sell. The copywriting book that I found really good and specific to the Internet is "Web Copy That Sells" by Maria Veloso.
  • Whatever you decide, never stop split testing something new and pulling out the one that doesn't convert. It's a never ending cycle.

  • Your thinking is totally wrong OP.

What do you mean a good landing page?

What is good depends on the taste of the individual.

Now. I am presuming that this site is for making money. Yea?

So, beauty or "good" if "beauty equals good" is a non-essential factor.

If that's the case then "good" is what converts and not what is pretty because converting is the bottom line.

    Period.

A lot of landing pages that work aren't considered pretty by a lot people's standards but they can often beat the crap out of "beauty" when it comes to closing the sale or at the least they doesn't have hindrances that hurt closing the sale, such as a page that is too "pretty" or busy, for example.

Don't presume that if you like it that others will also.

Stop thinking that you haven't seen an example of a good landing page because you don't think any you have seen are good.

    How would you know?

You need to test and see what works and you should probably start from simple and then build from there.

You don't paint on a busy canvas but on an empty on.

  • I'm not sure who or where you got the idea that your page is a good landing page. The headline is non existent. The all the graphics just take your attention away from the benefit of the product and there is no real story to involve the potential customer into wanting to look at what you are selling. There definitley needs to be somesort of a grabber headline and then a short story of what happened to you and then how your product fixed the problem and close with how it will benefit your customer. Simplify your page and clean it up and I'm sure you will see a much better conversion rates. Check out thesecretinterview and incomecloner (just add www and .com as needed) these are both great examples of how sales copy should be written. These are going to be much longer than what you have currently but you can use the premise to revise what you currently have. Good Luck.

    • There are many problems with your page but let me touch on some of the main problems

Your sales copy is important, but even if you have the best sales copy ever wrtten, will it be as persuasive to me if I read it out of order?

The layout of the page is definitely one of the biggest problems. I find it very confusing. What am I suppose to read first? second? third? Unsupervised thinking leads to poor conversions. Too many choices no clear direction in what I should read first on the page. I think most folks will hit the back button within two seconds after landing on a page like this, it's just easier find another page with a little more clarity in the offer.

People respond different when you engage them in a conversational style. Persuation is a conversation that takes place in the readers head. You have a bunch of boxes with snippets of information but your sales copy never attempts to engage me in a conversation.

Your call-to-action and your offer form are inconsistant. If you are offering a free tip sheet why do I need to give you "Best time", "cell phone" or "amount of unsecured debt". This seems inconsistant and confusing to me, it's as if your form is for a different offer than what you wrote in your call-to-action.

Your landing page is in need of a radical redesign. Here are my suggestions to improve your landing page:
      • Remove the navigation from the top of the page.
      • Remove the animated banner
      • Change the layout to a single column
      • Use your font size and color to draw the readers eyes to what you want them to read first.
      • Write a headline that promises a specific tangible benefit.
      • Write a sub headline that draws the reader into the first paragraph.
      • Engage the reader in a conversational style.
      • Write a paragraph that describe the problem your offer will solve
      • Write a paragraph that tells how your offer specifically solves their problem
      • Write 2-3 bullets that empasizes the emotional benefit of your offer.
      • Write a paragraph or two that describes specifically why I should choose you over other options.
      • Write a call-to-action that promises a specific tangible benefit
      • Create a form that collects the minimum information consistant with your offer
      • Create a submit button that is labeled with a benefit not just the word submit
      • Select you single most compelling testimonial and place next to your offer form.
      • Place your credibility symbols immediately below your offer form
Keep your sales copy short and to the point, this is a lead generation page and long sales copy does not work as well for lead generation.

Naturally there are a lot more details that should be addressed, but this should be enough to get you well down the path toward a landing page that will get conversions.

Once you have a page that works you can begin optimizing by testing variations of key elements like headlines, call to actions, etc.

  • You still seem to be fixed on the visual aspect of your page. You are doing OK by putting yourself in the client's shoes, but you are asking the wrong question. It should not be "do I like this page?" but "does this guy appear to solve my problem? What's in it for me?". Just saying what you do and how does not answer those questions. Follow Don's recommendations, it's pretty much a resume of what's in Maria Veloso's book. Better yet, buy her book or any other copywriting book.
  • I really like the style, layout and colour theme of your landing page, it's simple but effective.
  • I personally like how to looks but I believe it will be advisable to reorganize the landing page because there are a lot of words to read. It's nice to get them read the most important information, then just give them additional readings after the signed up :-)
