I found this great tool Social bookmarking service. Fast tagging and posting to all major social websites - SocialMarker.com

Now heres my question. I have 5 blogs with a total of about 100 articles and posts. I've vbeen pining them but very little bookmarking and not like this tool can do. Should I go back 2 or 3 years and bookmark all the old articles and posts?

I suggest you to bookmark the old articles with dofollow social bookmarking websites and ping it. socialmarker has both dofollow and nofollow websites. Selet the dofollow sites and bookmark it. I hope this helps you.

Although the nofollow sites don't help with SEO, I often get some clicks from Propeller and Folkd, as their entries sometimes seem to show up in the search engine results, and then people will click through to my site. It's not been a flood of traffic, but it does produce some.

You might get banned from the socialbookmarking sites if you just go back and bookmark all your old content. I bookmark mine in a series spread out over several days/months, as well as a few random sites now and again to keep it real.

I would be careful about going back to far, or at least posting multiple times.

Social networks are getting better at detecting spam, let's face doing this type of thing is spam (well at least in their eyes).

If your posting more than once or twice a day, you are putting your account at risk of getting deleted, especially if you're not using proxies.
    .
Be a less riskier idea to post to new accounts. But even then be careful.

I have far better results with old posts using social media type sites like squidoo.com (even with the nofollow) clearblogs, wordpress.com with a link back to your website.

Obviously a no follow won't help you from a link perspective from google, but a new lense/page from an authority type site does tend to rank higher, at least initially, and if you are smart with your content, you can entice the reader to click to your page anyway.

One idea that works a treat for me is to put half an article on one of these sites, and then a link that tells them to click to your blog, etc for the rest of the article.

You then have two opportunities for human eyes to find content written by you.

    Cheers

I do not consider it spamming if you are posting real articles once per day...

You're probably correct there, but at the end of the day, it's not what you think, it's what the social bookmarking accounts think about it that's important.

I think you will find many social bookmarking sites don't actually want you to create an account purely to be bookmarking your own stuff, because it doesn't really add any value to them does it?

For example searchles has a clause in it's terms of use that you agree to when you register an account that says

"You will not submit stories or comments linking to affiliate programs!"

Technically if your post your own articles, it's likely you're doing it to sell something isn't it (at least in some cases).

With that said I certainly do that myself, but I also try and mix it up by not having one account for all my blog posts, and sometimes bookmarking other things, like their target audience would do.

Likewise for google, what you and I consider to be great content can be viewed rightly or wrongly as spam by google.

We have to work in with these websites and with google to use them all to our best advantage.

      Cheers

A question for those familiar with socialmarker. Do I have to go to each of the sites and register first?

I've been using the tool but I only see any effect from digg when I go log inunder my account and bookbark directly.
I'm seeing to effects from socialmarker. Am I using it correctly?

I've had a consistent problem with Social Marker, and I'm curious if others have had the same problem.

When I use it, eventually as I'm working my way through the list of sites, I reach a point where Social Marker does not show the next bookmarking site to me, but it shows me something unexpected (if I remember right, it ends up showing me that page from my site that I'm bookmarking), and that disrupts the flow so that I can't continue. I've not known how to get around this, so I haven't been using Social Marker.

Anyone else experience this? If so, have you gotten around it?

Emailrevealer you will need an account with all 79 sites in order to use socialmarker or socialposter.

And you need to choose your keywords & tags properly..

faverr has been having issues in the last week, they even shut down for close to 24hrs. I got the default web hosting account suspended/over bandwidth page when i tried to access their home page.

This is a great tool SocialMarker. I just wonder why when I click the "Best" button it doesn't give me all DoFollow's? Are those dofollow sites listed just not that popular? I don't know much about social bookmarking communities.

I have just been submitting to Digg, de.licio.us, twitter and Furl so far. Which others should I add?

These are all dofollow to the best of my knowledge. But be sure not do only use dofollow sites because this is unnatural.

      Folkd
      Spurl
      Feedmarker
      LinkaGoGo
      SpotBack
      Connectedy

      A1 Webmarks
      OYAX
      Pixelmo

      Yattle
      Memfrag
      Ziki
      i89
      Chipmark

You could also create hub pages, squidoo lenses and blogs on blogger, livejournal, wordpress, vox, tumblr etc and then bookmark all those using the accounts mentioned above. You could also try Lemonarion's link wheel.

The answer to the question above is yes you have to create the accounts for all the sites in socialmarker.com. Social marker is a great free bookmarking site, I have found it to be very useful but it does hang up now and again. I would recommend having a notepad open with all the required info just incase, I found that to be very useful while doing it.

A couple of things that have hepled me significanly with bookmarking....

Create real sounding usernames that sound / look nothing like your name / site or anything metioned in the article.

Bookmark other thematically appropriate (obviously non-competing) _good_ stuff that has nothing to do with you.... The more blantent the stuff your promoting is, the higher the ratio of other people's stuff should be.

What you can do is to bookmark your own content
as well as other people's content.

When you mix it up, it makes it seem more natural
so you can avoid the risk of getting banned, even
though it's very unlikely any way.

I've managed to find a good bookmarking site called Addthis. It's free and you all you need to do is pick the button you like and then copy and paste the related html code (which is given to you) nto your landing page, website, article etc...

Like I said, the best part is that its free and addthis bookmark buttons can connect you to most of the popular social network sites.
