How to de-index e-commerce shop pages to from Google Index?

Hi,

Today, I've found around 500 shop pages are indexed in my Google search console. Here are the examples-

These pages are indexed as "Indexed, not submitted in sitemap". I want to de-indexed them because recently my Indexing ( pages that I've included in my sitemap ) decreased. I don't know how to do it because there is no option to noindex them in the WordPress. These pages are automatically created, so I can't control it.
Please help me to deindex them.

    you can "no index" the links in your htaccess file or robots.txt

    You've to embed NOFOLLOW or NOINDEX directives in the Meta tags or .htaccess file of these pages. As it is more time consuming task you can simply disallow them in your site's robots.txt file just to tell bots not to index them.

      I think robots.txt file let Googlebot crawl or not a specific part of a website. Well, could you please write the code to block the Googlebot to crawl and index the URLs I've mentioned above?

      I've found this code from SearchEngineJournal.

      User-agent: *
      Disallow: *?dir=*
      Disallow: *&order=*
      Disallow: *?price=*
      Disallow: *?sid=*

      Is it okay to add in the robots.txt file?

    This is the reason why in the first place in ecommerce site pages robot.txt file must preferred for example transaction pages must not crawl and index.

    Your website is built on wordpress. You can set a group of pages to noindex using the Yoast plugin. Like category pages or archive pages.

      This is a pretty easy way to tackle the issue if you are not comfortable mucking around with the .htaccess file.

      Within the Yoast SEO plugin there is a page called "Search Appearance" there are a number of tabs that control what gets indexed. From here you can no-index a number of low quality pages (depending on how your blog is set up) such as categories, archives and pagination.

        I did a bit of further reading up on no-indexing pagination and found that the Yoast SEO plugin has removed the option to no-index pagination. According to Yoast:

        "The problem is that at the end of last year, Google said something that caught our attention: long-term noindex on a page will lead to them not following links on that page. This makes adding noindex to page 2 and further of paginated archives a bad idea, as it might lead to your articles no longer getting the internal links they need."

    No kidding! I'm thankful I came across this thread today. I have always reviewed the archive/pagination pages while doing and usually no-indexed them to keep the indexed pages "clean." I'm glad to have stumbled up that new info.

    I think Ferris Bueller said it best:
    "Google moves pretty fast. If you don't read SEO Roundtable and keep up with the algo changes, you could tank your site."
