Question about SEO services for recurring revenue

Hi. I am a web designer that is looking for ways to make recurring revenue instead of having to constantly look for new web design clients. I have often wondered what SEO firms were charging these high monthly fees for. When I think about SEO services that I provide for clients it is mostly on page stuff like keyword rich headings and page titles and interlinking inside the website pages.

My question is what do those of you that sell SEO services for a monthly fee do each month as a service for your clients? What specifically are you doing on a monthly basis that adds value? I am trying to get a list together of what I can do each month to help clients and then earn a recurring revenue. Thanks!

    I post new blogs instead of recycling. I give free newsletters, as they are vital in one of the niches I am working on. You may also want to consider promotions every month for your loyal clients.

    Most SEO firms start by making sure the on-page SEO is tight but then spend the majority of their time each month trying to get quality backlinks for a site. Some are able to do it just with the existing content on a website but most sites don't have a lot of linkable assets so they also create content that they can more easily get backlinks to. They also look for easier wins, trying to gain links from unlinked brand mentions and from broken backlink building.
