Facebook takes out Yahoo for number 2 spot? Since When?

I was looking at the Alexa Top 500 sites and I noticed that Facebook is the number 2 spot on the web. Last time I checked Yahoo was number 2.

Is this common knowledge and I am the last to find out or does anybody else find this to be news?

Not surprising really since Facebook has over 300 million users now.

This doesn't surprise me either. I think half of the very small town I grew up in are now on my friends' list on Facebook, as well several members of my close family and extended family. LOL Facebook has captured people that never joined myspace. It is not only more grown up but it seems like a nicer place to be, for family and friends to communicate.

I noticed that Facebook was #2 a couple weeks ago. I think the MySpace kids have began migrating to Facebook even though it's been Mom & Dad's social space for a while.

I think MySpace got carried away with huge flashy annoying ads everywhere. Who has time for one of those pages to load anyway?

Typical Murdoch greed turning a decent platform into something it shouldn't be. Again.

I was very recent..I guess it started last month.. No doubt because facebook makes people repeat their visits everyday... But I believe one of the success factors are the games that facebook offers.. :-) They are simply yet very cool and people of all ages love it..

I'm actually suprised that yahoo was no.2 before.

When I was in school, most of my classmates would be distracted by facebook. None of them were ever distracted by myspace.

Also, i noticed that most of them used google instead of yahoo.

so that's a plus plus for fb and a minus minus for yahoo.

If that is true - not surprised. I've been seeing the number of users growing on FB.
