Google Rankings Dropped 1st August But...

Hi guys, so I was ranking page 1 of Google for some good profitable terms but when Google unleashed its broad August update I dropped to page 2 and 3. To make it simple to understand, my rank tracker shown a 90% dropped in rankings.

Now 2 days ago when Google announced it has finished with its update my rankings increased and my rank tracker is now showing 64%.

The thing is I moved 2 of my sites to a new domain around January February time. The old 2 domains I redirected to the new domain which took over the rankings beautifully and was ranking well until the Google August update. The new site got some super long high quality articles of 4000+ words for each article.

The 2 old domains have all kinds of links pointing to them since 2013. I'm wondering if I should stop redirecting these 2 domains to the new site and just do some real white hat seo on the new domain and bank on the content to rank back again?

What are your advises? thanks.

    I would do only white hat SEO on the new site. That way you can be sure that Google is going to like it. Put yourself in Google's shoes, they want great content that people are going to love. They want other sites with great content to recommend your site. I would suggest you only link with sites that have a good DA and PA, that look good to you.



    The thing is, algorithms are all very well, but nothing beats a human brain. You know what Google wants, and you know how to give it to them. Surely that is going to make them happy and make you rank more highly? It makes sense to me.

    Yeah Mr. Wayne, that

    When your site drops after a Google update, Google simply discovered you were scrimping on doing the white hat stuff. Hence the drop. I barely pay attention to SEO and even break many rules yet I do OK for search because all I do is white hat SEO stuff, from creating helpful content to building strong bonds with folks in my niche.

    The rankings dropped only shows that your website is not performing well in the web in which many of your competitors sites are more competitive than yours.
