Hi,

Few websites are sending image based paid backlinks (Do-follow) to our website. I know Google doesnt like paid-links with dofollow. How bad is having nofollow backlinks? There are hundreds of pages which are sending backlinks. I wonder if removing them would harm our SEO in anyway? If we really need to get fix it, should we send those links It must be redirected through a file that is excluded by our robots.txt?

Thanks

Can't you contact the websites you paid and tell them to nofollow the links? I mean, you paid them and as a client, you should be able to ask for that.

Chances are, if they have any kind of relevant and decent authority, yes, nofollowing the links most probably will hurt your rankings. That's the double-edged sword you unsheathe when you pay for links. They help you until they are discovered and hurt you badly.
